On April 26, a big Chinese ship caught the eye of the whole world. China's first homemade aircraft carrier(航空母舰)hit the water in Dalian, Liaoning. It is the largest and best ship China has ever built, according to China Daily.
The new ship is China's second aircraft carrier and it has no name yet. China's first aircraft carrier is called Liaoning, which was bought from Ukraine and later rebuilt by China.
The new aircraft carrier was designed in China and the building began in 2013.The ship now must be completed at sea.
An aircraft carrier is like an airport on the sea. It can carry hundreds of planes and troops to wars. Planes fly from and land back on it, and soldiers work and live on it. Thanks to aircraft carrier, planes can fight along with warships. They allow planes to take off and land from anywhere in the ocean around the world.
But an aircraft carrier is very hard and expensive to build. It costs a lot of money and uses a large amount of steel and other special materials. For example, a basic aircraft carrier is made of 60, 000 tons of steel! It also uses complex(综合的) technologies including radar, electricity, mechanics and weapons. Finally, it takes years to build it.

A computer can get very hot when it works on a lot of programs. It can cost a lot to cool the computer. So some scientists want to know what would happen when if the heat from the computer could be used.
Large Internet companies such as Google and Microsoft have thousands of computers. As these computers deal with information, they produce lots of heat, so they need huge cooling systems. These systems send the heat into the air.
A company in the Netherlands thinks paying to make the computers work and then paying again to cool them are a waste of energy. So the company developed a special device—the e-Radiator.
Boaz Leupe, head of the company, says that e-Radiator works as a heating system and saves money. He explains that the energy is used twice—once to heat the home and once to cool the computer and that the users don't have to pay to cool their computers.
Five homeowners in the Netherlands are testing the heating system in their homes.
"We pay for the computer usage, so in that way, homeowners get heating for free." Boaz says.
Jan Visser is one of the homeowners. "If you use the computer more, the e-Radiator produces more heat," he says. "It cannot provide enough heat if you don't use your computer often." But he is ready to try it. It's a great help to his family.
The company says e-Radiators produce heat temperature of up to 55℃. It says the system could save its users about $ 440 a year.

In today's world, sleep experts say that for a better night's rest, Americans should turn off their smartphones or iPads before sleeping. Such electronic products make the brain more active, and then influence people's sleep. But according to a latest survey, more than 90% of Americans usually use a computer or some other kinds of electronic products in the hour before bed.
Researchers found that man-made light from some electronic products at night might reduce the levels of the brain chemicals that help sleep. The researchers showed that sitting in the light from tablets clearly reduced the levels of the chemicals which manage our body clocks and play a great role in the sleep cycle.
In the study, the researchers let volunteers read, play games and watch movies on a tablet for different time while measuring how much light their eyes received. They found that sitting for two hours before a bright tablet at night reduced the levels of the chemicals by about 22%.
Studies of students using computers at night have got the similar results. And researchers said that might not only cause sleeplessness, but also increase the risk of obesity(肥胖症), diabetes(糖尿病) and other diseases.
To be on the safe side, the researchers advise us to use computers less before bed, or turn down our screens low.
