The Summer Science Exhibition（展览）is held every year to celebrate the cutting edge of UK science. With more than twenty exhibits of hands-on science and technology and a series of encouraging talks and activities, there’s something for everyone. All of our events are free and no booking is required. School groups should let our organizers know ahead of time. Food and drink
Take a break at our café which offers a selection of hot dishes, salads, sandwiches, cakes and some soft drinks on the ground floor.
The café is open throughout the exhibition and closes 30 minutes before closing time each day.

When I was only 3 years old, my mother taught me to memorize and recite poems. She was my first teacher of the arts, and my father was the first to appreciate my performance. They learn about discipline(纪律) and hard work and what’s required and what they have to do to bring themselves to the work. They learn how they can be of service in the world through the arts. They learn how to work with a team. By studying the arts, these students are open to worlds and lives that they might not have any other way of knowing about or any other way to connect with in their lives the way they are right now.
These young people are our future. We are passing the torch to them. And I think that’s one of the most important reasons why we need to foster(培养) the arts.

When Jenny Brown, 10, developed bone cancer, her right leg below the knee was cut off to save her life. During the treatment, Jenny had a cat named Boogie, which seldom left her side as she got used to life with a prosthetic(义肢) leg. “My relationship with Boogie showed me animals think, feel, and suffer as we do,” says Jenny, now 44.
