London has a population of about 7, 000, 000. From about the year 1800 to 1945, London was the biggest city in the world. But now many cities are even bigger than before.

London is famous for many things. Tourists come from all over the world to visit its famous buildings and listen to the famous clock, Big Ben.

Like many big cities, London has problems such as traffic and pollution, and they stop the city from developing. Every day about 1, 000, 000 people come and go by underground, but there are still too many cars and buses in the streets. So the air isn’t clean. However, it is cleaner than it was 100 years ago.

For me, the best things in London are the parks. There are five parks in the city centre. But my children’s favourite place is Hamleys, the biggest toy shop in the world.
