One day last week, three young friends were walking in a forest when they saw a hand poking(露出)through the bushes(灌木丛). Alison Bailey, along with her two friends Simon and Liam Stone, decided to find out who was there. They walked into the bushes and found a woman. Canada Geese are large blue and white birds. When autumn comes, they have to move south where the weather is warmer. The winters are so cold in Canada that the birds will die if they stay there.
Last spring, Bill Lishman found sixteen young Canada Geese on his farm. They had lost their parents. “Can I see my baby?” asked the happy new mother. When the baby was in her arms, she found the baby had been born without ears.
Time proved (证明) that the baby’s hearing was perfect. He got on well with his classmates. But one day, he rushed home and said to his mother with tears in his eyes. “a boy, a big boy…called me a freak(怪胎).”
