In Beijing, it's certainly popular to talk about living a low-carbon(低碳的)life. However, it's more easily said than done. But the Chinese capital city is ready to lead the way to a low-carbon city.

Xizhimen Station is one of the busiest subway stations in Beijing, because three lines meet at this point and many people need to get off if they want to change to another line. But passengens have to walk a long way if they want to move from one to anther.

A person said, “ it's difficult to change lines here. You need walk five to ten minutes.” Another said, “We would like to use this greener way of transportation, but it's just not convenient.”

And this is just one small part of the problem for the Beijing government(政府), if it wants to be a truly low-carbon city. Building a low-carbon city isn't an easy task and it will take a long time. I believe that once the plan is complete, more policies(政策) will come out to support(支持)this project. The government has made its plans for a low-carbon city known to the public in March.
