Pizza Hut has created a new way to get your favorite pie to you: through your shoes — Pie Tops II. Pie Tops I received so much popularity that Pizza Hut makes them available for sale, in more colors and more sizes than Pie Tops I.

I bought a pair of Pie Tops II and successfully ordered pizzas. It’s really cool and easy. Here’s something I did not expect when first wearing a pair of Pie Tops II: They are comfortable. Walking around in Pie Tops is perfectly fine.

There is a Pie Tops II app where users pair the shoes through Bluetooth. Users need a Pizza Hut account (账户) to place orders. Unluckily, you can’t order everything as you like, because it only accepts orders of Pizza Hut’s two medium pizzas for $5.99 each. To avoid the accidental pizza order, once you press, a message appears on your phone to tell you to make sure.

The Pie Tops II goes on sale for $150 on HBX.com. It is clearly a marketing stunt ( 营销噱头). Experts say the main goal here is to draw attention to Pizza Hut. Really, your interest in this not—very—serious product should come down to how deep your love is for Pizza Hut. Do you REALLY love their pizzas so much that you will always wear these shoes just to make it possible to order pizzas at any time with them? Then, sure, go ahead and splurge (挥霍). If you do not, then go on ordering pizzas by phone.

Food, and the way we eat it, is always changing. As society develops, we learn new ways of growing, processing and cooking food. What we ate 200 years ago was very different from what we eat today. In Belgium, people eat chocolate pizzas with marshmallows on top. Japan is a nation of seafood lovers, so not surprisingly, they love octopus and squid, as well as roasted seaweed, toppings. Australians sometimes choose kangaroo or crocodile on their pizza.

The popularity of the pizza is also related to our changing lifestyles. In today's super-fast society, people often don't have the time or energy to cook. So, they order take-out and very often, it's a pizza. Sometimes you don't even have to pick it up, it's delivered (递送) to your home. If you don't even have time to sit down, buy a single slice and eat it standing up.
