Last night Mr. and Mrs. Rojas stayed home. It was cold and rainy and they didn’t want to go out in the bad weather. Mrs. Rojas made some popcorn and ice tea. At 8:00, Mr. and Mrs. Rojas went into the living room, sat on the sofa and began the movie and ate and drank. At 8:15, Mr. and Mrs. Rojas realized they already watched the movie last year and they didn’t want to watch it again.

“Now what?” asked Mr. Rojas. “Let’s play cards!” answered Mrs. Rojas. At 8:30 Mr. and Mrs. Rojas started to play cards. They were playing for about 10 minutes when Mr. Rojas looked out the window. The rain changed to snow and the trees were covered in beautiful white snow. “I’m happy we stayed home tonight. It looks beautiful outside but this weather is very dangerous to drive in.” said Mr. Rojas. “You’re right,” said Mrs. Rojas, “but I’m bored. Let’s play some music and dance.”

Mr. Rojas was surprised. “Dance? But I really don’t ….”

“Oh come on!” Mrs. Rojas insisted. She put on a romantic CD and they both started to dance. They were dancing for about 1 minute when suddenly the music stopped and the lights went out.　 Mrs. Rojas laughed. “We’re just not very lucky tonight, are we?” she said. Mr. Rojas said, “Of course we’re lucky! We are together!” He kissed her and continued to dance with her, in the dark and without music.

It was a cold and wet night, I had just left a local club to travel home when I lost control of my car. I crashed into a car, then hit a tree. The force was so great that is knocked the parked car several meters forwards. I was knocked out cold. Worse still, I had no idea that a fire had started under the engine of my car. It then set the tree on fire.

Driving behind me was a young man, who I later found out was called Jared. He saw the accident occur and stopped to help me out of the burning car. Last night it was still light out when I returned home from work. My new neighbors and his son were in their favorite place, outside in the yard, playing baseball. The young boy always reports to me how many "home runs" he hits and I always clap and cheer for him.　　　　

These guys are special. Where you see one of them, the other is not far away. The dad is always talking with the child face to face, focusing on the child… not talking on a cellphone or walking ahead of the boy so that he has to run to keep up with him. This guy is really great. It warms my heart to see a father and son enjoying each other's company like they do.　　　　

As they were returning to their upstairs apartment, I asked the dad if his son had a bike. The boy was far ahead and couldn't hear us. He said no. I wasted no time trekking to the store and I was beside myself with excitement as I picked up a new bike in a style that most kids like. I loaded the bike into my car carefully and off I went.　　

At home, I took out the bike and carried it upstairs to their apartment and left it outside the door. Not an easy task　 for a 50-year-old woman! About five minutes later, they were at my door, with the boy dancing up and down with　　 excitement. One night Mr. Lee was driving his wife home from work. She was a staff nurse in a hospital. It was almost midnight and she was quite tired out. She soon fell asleep. Mr Lee looked at her and smiled.
