What day leaves you a deep impression(印象)? For teachers in Yali group, Dec 11th was a big day, when teachers from 17 middle schools joined in the “Teaching Contest(比赛) in Yali Group”.
All the teachers were given 3 hours to prepare for their ten-minute presentation on a fixed topic. Although they couldn’t choose their favorite topic, they could choose their favorite way to teach. For example, if Lily thought she was good at how to guide students to read, she could design(设计) her class as a reading class. Time was limited, but the teachers’ abilities were limitless. The group leader of Yali group, Ms. Huang, thought highly of the contest. She gave a short speech using four key words to express her feelings.Youth — All the contestants are young, and she hoped their minds could be young and energetic forever. Apple — Some of the teachers were green hands, but it also meant they could have a bigger chance to improve themselves. Ladder(梯子) — The big achievements they got today were based on not only their own efforts, but also the teamwork. I went to the SAIC-GM Pavilion (上汽集团通用汽车馆). I found my dream car there. It is a green car. Its name is “Leaf”. Chinese engineers made the car. Its roof is in the shape of a leaf. The roof takes in CO2 and changes it into electricity for the car.
The Japan Pavilion is full of high technology. The “Wonder Camera” is cool. It can find a smiling face in a crowd. When you’re smiling, it takes a photo of you. I want to invent something like that in the future.
My favorite pavilion is the Germany Pavilion. I watched the Energy Source show. Visitors made a ball swing back and forth (来回摇摆) by using only their voices. It’s amazing! Although we had waited for quite a long time before we entered the hall, I think it is well worth seeing with your own eyes.
I like painting, so my parents took me to the France Pavilion to see the famous paintings. But the French cooks caught my eye. I saw them cook. My mom told me that they are some of the best cooks in the world. The dish they cooked looked like a painting. So, being a cook is my second dream job.

If there is one person who has left a deep impression on me, it's my my teacher, Mrs. Pathak, who was my class teacher for three years. In my childhood, how I wished I had a mother or a sister like her. One moment she could be hard-working and strict, another moment kind and patient.
She always encouraged us to tell the truth. For example, if one had not done the homework, he need not lie. She allowed us to make mistakes, saying we couldn’t be perfect all the time, but we should try.
Another thing she taught me was punctually. She set a good example with her own actions. She was always on time, so we students tried our best to be on time.
She surprised us with her sense of humor. Her classroom teaching was always humorous. After class, she talked to us and told us jokes.

Whoever came up with the answers was praised and given the prize. Now I sometimes wonder whether Mrs. Pathak just wanted to encourage us to explore and find answers by ourselves.

A few years ago, I went to China with my parents. The five-day trip left me with a deep impression.
As the capital of China, Beijing is a very beautiful city with fresh air and clean streets which make the travelers feel very pleased. To my surprise, many people there were learning English. Later I was told that they did so because Beijing would hold the 29th Olympic Games and they wanted most foreigners to understand them. They strictly kept the traffic rules. When there was a red light, no one was seen crossing the street.
Of all the places I visited, I liked the Summer Palace best. To our surprise, although it was winter when we were there, we still saw green trees and many fresh flowers. The whole park was very beautiful.
We visited a very modern football field. We were told the buildings where the Olympic Games would be held were even better than that. I also enjoyed skiing in Xiangshan. Skiing is an interesting and exciting sport liked by many people.
In my eyes, China is a nice place and Chinese people are very kind. In Beijing Station, there were so many people, and most of them were going home to spend the Spring Festival—the most important Chinese festival, with their families. Passengers helped each other carry luggage（行李）, and they were very kind to foreigners. We were given a card by the hotel we stayed at, on which was the address of the hotel. With the card we never got lost in the city.
The five days passed quickly, but the trip left me a lot of sweet memories.
