Who: The contest is open to US residents (居民) under 19 years old.

(If your children cannot write yet, you can type their words for them.)

Categories:

1. Aged 8 and under

2. Aged 9 ~10

3. Aged 11 ~12

4. Aged 13 ~18

When: Send your entry (报名表) before December 31, 2017

Prize: One winner from each category will receive $ 200 each.

How to enter:

1. Write a story in 1,500 words or less. The first sentence should start with "So there I was".

2. Fill out a Contest Entry Form.

3. Email your Contest Entry Form to contest@adventurewrite.com. SUBJECT line of the email must be: Category / Name / Story Title.

4. Paste (粘贴) your story directly into the body of your email.

5. If you prefer, you may send your entry through the mail to: Adventure Write— Story Contest P. O. Box 872241, Wasilla AK 99687

Mark Twain tells a boy’s story in The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn. Huck is a poor child without a mother or home. His father drinks too much wine and always beats him.

Huck’s situation has freed him from the restriction (约束) of society. He explores in the woods and goes fishing. He stays out all night and does not go to school. He smokes. Huck runs away from home. So, he thinks it is his duty to tell Jim’s owerns where to find him.

Later, Huck comes to understand that Jim is a good man. He finds he cannot carry out his plan to tell Jim’s owners of his whereabouts (下落). Instead, he decides to help Jim run away. He decides to do this, even if God punished him.
