Women who want to be pregnant(怀孕) would walk under a hanging lantern praying for a child.

1. Being a traditional holiday, it is still now celebrated quite often in many areas. Midwinter day is the day in the northern areas with the shortest day and the longest night year-round. After it, daytime will become increasingly longer and the coldest climate will hit all the places on the Northern part of the globe. On that day, it’s a tradition to eat dumplings in the north of China.

2. It is the 11th solar term of the year, which happens in July. It signifies the hottest period is coming but the extreme hot point has yet to arrive. During this time, farmers are devoted to field management. Kidney bean, peanut and so on are growing now, and people water and also prevent the injurious insects.

3.It is the third solar term according to the Chinese lunar calendar. When it comes, spring thunder (雷 ) cracks the sky and everything in nature begins to grow. It means that animals sleeping in winter are awakened by spring thunder and that the earth begins to come back to life. After it, days will get warm, rainfall will increase and nature will change quietly.

4.The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms. It is the first solar term of the year. This year it begins on Feb 4th and ends on Feb 18th. It lifts the curtain of spring. After that, everything turns green and full of vigor. People clearly see that the daytime is becoming longer and the weather is becoming warmer.

5. It falls in early spring, on the 106th day after the winter solstice. It is a time to remember the dead and honour one’s deceased ancestors and family members. It is a “spring” festival, and it is an occasion for the whole family to leave the home and to sweep the graves of their forebears.

26.1. Langshan Mountain, lying in Xinning County, is about 500 kilometers away from Changsha. It is one of China's National Geological(地质的) Parks and is famous for its special Danxia landform(丹霞地貌). Covering an area of 108 square kilometers, Langshan Mountain has more than 60 scenic spots(景点), among which the most famous are Tianyi Lane(天一巷), Chili Peak(辣椒峰), Bajiao Stronghold(八角寨) and so on.

27.2. The Wildlife Park in Sydney has lots of different animals and birds. There are over 600 animals there, including kangaroos, koalas and crocodiles(鳄鱼). They are kept in their natural environment. I like the Wildlife Park better than a zoo where most of the animals are in cages.

28.3. The Apple Park in Cupertino, California is like a huge landed UFO. It covers an area of 708，000 square meters. The round four­storey(四层的) main building has hundreds of rooms. It covers an area of up to 260，000 square meters. Over 9，000 trees including many fruit trees are planted to make it a mini forest. It's an ideal place to make people feel better and more energetic.

Shennongjia in Hubei is an inviting place for tourists.Traveling there is an unusual experience, as you can see sceneries of the four seasons from different altitudes. “When the bottom of the mountain is summer, the top is spring and while the foothill is autumn, the top is covered with ice. Many animals in danger live there, such as the golden monkey, the clouded leopard and the Asian black bear.

30.5. The Forbidden City was built in 1420. The palace has over 10，000 rooms. The Forbidden City is known as a historical site for tourists from all over the world. Everyone can go in there. It is a museum with priceless Chinese antiques(古董) and treasures in it.

A. Every Saturday evening between 8: 30 and 9: 30 pm, Kevin presents an hour of fun. There is music and chat with well-known stars from the world of films and music. Each guest is interviewed and then one of them sings their latest song.

B. This is a short comedy film which lasts about half an hour. It was made 30 years ago. The actors were unknown at that time but they have become famous since then.

F. Joel and Charlie return with another comedy series. This series should be as funny as the last, with some unexpected things in each 30-minute program.
