As the old saying goes, “A new broom sweeps clean.” Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, took office on Jan 20. Trump also signed another controversial (有争议的) order about the economy. He decided to quit the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP, 跨太平洋伙伴关系协定). It was a free trade agreement between 12 countries around the Pacific, including Australia, Singapore and Japan. TPP was the product of seven years of work under former US President Barack Obama. It aims to make trade easier among the 12 countries. But Trump wants to do trade deals with one country at a time, instead of in a big group like the TPP, according to The Independent.
