She not only finds the White Rabbit, but also meets other animals such as the Dormouse and the Caterpillar. During her adventure, Alice eats and drinks things that make her change in size. At last, Alice enters a garden, where she happens to see a trial (审判). The Knave of Hearts is accused (指控) of stealing the Queen of Hearts' pie, while the King of Hearts is the judge. As Alice argues with the Queen, the Queen becomes angry with Alice and orders her men to kill Alice. In the end, Alice grows to a huge size and knocks over the playing cards. Suddenly, Alice wakes from her dream. The classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, written by Lewis Carroll, an English author, was fantastic. It took you to a world of fantasy. The storyline is so imaginative. Alice, with her pleasant personality is attractive. It is one of the classics needed to complete your bookshelf. |

After leaving school for many years, a group of graduates (毕业生) visited their teacher. All of them complained about problems and stress in their work and life.
The teacher went to the kitchen and returned with a large bottle of coffee and many kinds of cups—china (瓷), plastic and glass. He told them to help themselves to the coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in their hands, the teacher said, “If you noticed, all the nice-looking and expensive cups had been taken, but the simple and cheap ones had been left behind. Although it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source (根源)of your problems and stress. In fact, the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. it is just a tool to contain (容纳) what we drink.”
What all of them really wanted was coffee, not the cups, but they all went for the best cups. And then they began to watch others' cups. Life is the coffee; jobs, money and the social position are the cups. The cups we have do not change the quality of our life.
Sometimes, if we only pay attention to the cup, we will fail to enjoy the coffee.
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

4.The passage tells us that________.
A.the cup can add quality to the coffee

Last week, some German parents who took their kids out of school early were stopped by the police at the airport. The police were making reports on students who didn't have permission (许可) to miss school.
Like many places, it is against the law to skip (不参加) school in Germany. Children over the age of 9 can't miss classes without permission from the school. But during busy travel time, some parents take their children out of school early to save money on vacations. People can often save a lot of money on flights and hotels by going at a different time than others.
Last weekend was the beginning of an important holiday period in Germany. People in charge of the schools asked the police to check and make sure that students weren't leaving for vacations before they were allowed to.
Police officers at three German airports looked for families with school-aged children. When they found them, the police pulled the families out of lines to talk with them. They wanted to find out if the parents had permission for the children to be out of school. If the children did not have permission, the police reported the families to their schools and to the government. In all, the police reported about 20 families.
These families will have two weeks to show that it was okay for their children to miss school. If they can't, they may have to pay as much as $1,200 as a fine (罚款), or receive some other punishment.
Germany is not the only place where parents have to pay fines if their children miss school. Many other countries and many of the states in the U.S. have similar laws.
The good news is that the families were allowed to go on vacation after they talked to the police. But they might have a big bill waiting for them when they get back.

A.They can spend more time with their children.

A.find students who skipped school without permission
B.give punishment to the students there
C.take students back to school
