I worry about my boys. They waste a lot of time in front of the computer playing games. I'd rather they read or ran around outside. How can I limit(限制)the time my children spend playing games? Mrs Smith |
It might be best if you let the kids play games before doing their homework.Research shows that it's not a good idea to play them before going to bed, since they keep the kids from sleeping well, and that playing them after a learning activity can mitigate(减轻)the brain's ability. Alpreesh |
My kids are only allowed to play computer games at the end of the school week and only after they have done their homework. It's very clear to them, and they have accepted the rule happily. We have no more arguments during the week. It's really been good for us. Cage |
I personally find it difficult to set time limits but when they’re on the computer,I get some quiet time. I built and now use a simple timer program that lets me set time limits(like 1 hour each day). The program gives the kids an audible reminder like "5 minutes left", and they have to stop when their time is up. It has ended all the fighting over computer time in our house. You can download it from http://www.TimesUpKids.com..com. John |

As the host city of the next Winter Games, Beijing held a wonderful eight-minute show at the closing ceremony of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, sending a warm invitation to the whole world.
The show was directed by Zhang Yimou, a famous Chinese director who was also responsible for the eight-minute summer handover in Athens in 2004 as well as the opening and closing ceremonies in Beijing in 2008 that had a big success in the world.

Leading the team were two dancers in costumes of panda puppets that are the world’s largest but the lightest at the same time, each weighing only about 10 kilograms. During the whole performance, the dancers and robots both wore LED lights on them that could be fit for the cold weather at PyeongChang Olympic Stadium without the risks of breaking. The costumes were also made with a kind of special material to keep the dancers warm.
Performers danced with 24 intelligent robots – standing for Beijing hosting the 24th Winter Olympics. They showed scenes of sports such as skating and skiing.
Pictures were projected to the icy floor while dancers skated across it, making a sense of augmented reality(增强现实). A number of moving screens in the middle of the field were also controlled by artificial intelligence(人工智能).
