Every hour spent watching TV, DVDs and videos as an adult reduces life by almost 22 minutes, a study suggests. And watching TV for an average of six hours a day can cut short your life by five years.
The researchers say they only want to tell people how dangerous watching TV for long time is. And they want to find out the relationship between watching TV and life.
Writing in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, they concluded(得出结论): TV watching time may have something to do with a loss of life.
The researchers, from the University of Queensland, used information from the Australian illnesses and lifestyle study, together with population and death rate data. But they said, “While we used Australian data, the effects in other countries are likely to be comparable(可比较的). In the UK, the average amount of time spent watching TV is four hours a day compared with five hours in the United States.
Some American researchers said that watching TV for long time can lead premature(过早的)death. Other study suggests that sitting for long can cause overweight and it can also make people take more junk foods.
England’s Chief Medical Officer, Sally Davies, says, “Physical activity offers huge benefits. We hope these studies will help more people realize that there are many ways to get exercise.” Her study shows that exercising for just 15 minutes a day can increase your life by up to three years.

Zach Linsky, 11, watches TV for 3 and a half hours a day and plays video games every other day. Zach, a sixth grader in Washington, D. C., is an American. But unlike many kids, he doesn’t have a TV, VCR, or computer in his bedroom. He only has a boom box (手提录音机).

Cars are also making global warming worse. They burn fossil fuels(化石燃料) in their engines, and send lots of greenhouse gases into the air.
Global warming may be a big problem, but we can all help stop it. People can try to drive their cars less. Or even get ones that run on sunlight! You can also help. Let’s try one of these top ideas:

(3) Don’t throw away your rubbish, try to recycle it. If rubbish is not recycled, it is put in the ground. There it rots(腐烂) and makes a greenhouse gas called methane(甲烷).So try to recycle cans, bottles, plastic bags and newspapers. It’ll make you feel great! And it’ll help the Earth.

C.more electricity is used, less greenhouse gases are produced
D.less electricity is used, more greenhouse gases are produced
5.Which is the following is NOT TRUE according to the passage?
