Dr Zhong Nanshan was born in October 1936 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. He is now a professor, famous respiratory (呼吸的)disease expert. He won the 400-meter race in a sports meet for Beijing college students and set records that nobody at Peking University has broken in 1956.
Even today, he exercises more than three times a week, and can even do 10 push-ups in one breath. He thinks that exercise plays a key role in keeping people healthy.
Now, at the age of 84, Zhong still keeps working in the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 started in Wuhan in 2020. He has been working together with his students and thousands of medical workers from different provinces. They do it knowing the great risk of being infected, but none of them has given up in the face of the danger. So, he is a doctor but he was also a fearless fighter.
