Alti Achenture in Africa
It was late at night, but Kevin could not sleep． His bed was inside a camping tent, and just outside the tent were the fields of Africa, filled with wild animals． His parents slept soundly in another bed across from him． He wondered how they could be so calm． What if a lion came into their tent? He was very frightened． It took a long time before Kevin finally fell asleep．
When the sun came up, he felt his mother's hand on his head． "Morning, Kcvin！" she said, "Time to wake up and go on that a safari．" Before they left America, his parents had explained to him that a safari was a long drive through nature, usually in Africa． During a safari you can see lions and zebras living free, instead of cooped up (限制) in a zoo．
"What if we get close to a lion?" Kevin asked．
"Oh darling," she said． "Nothing will happen to us if we listen to our guide． "
Kevin got dressed slowly, listened to the birds singing outside and began to feel less afraid． After a brief breakfast, he got into a jeep with his parents． The driver, Jim, a kind-looking man, was also their guide．
The jeep took off along a dirt road． After a little while Kevin saw something move out of the corner of his eye． "Wait!" he said． "I see something！"
Jim stopped the car and told them all to get out． Kevin and his parents waited in the tall grass while Jim walked ahead of them and looked around． After a minute Jim raised his hands in the air． "Shhh," he said in a low voice． "It's nothing dangerous but don't speak loudly．" Kevin and his parents walked up to where Jim stood, and soon Kevin saw a beautiful golden creature with dark brown spots (点) and a very, very long neck — a giraffe．
"Wow," said Kevin． He could not believe how close he was to the giraffe． All his fears disappeared and he began to get excited about the day to come．

I was coming back home late at night in a ”Sharing” minivan. In Hyderabad, India, it is a cheap and quick means of transport. The van drivers ply (揽客) as many as 13 people at times in a vehicle which is designed for the transport of 8 people．Our van was crowded as well. People were getting off and on at many places.
On the journey, one girl waved her hand to ask the driver to stop. While getting down, she tripped and fell．None of us notice it，as it was dark. The driver was waiting for her to pay. It was then that we saw the girl was on her knees by the side of the road. Another passenger and l got down and held her up．
Even in pain, the girl held up a note and asked us to pay the driver．The other passenger took the note and paid the driver．My stop was a few hundred meters away. I decided to stay with her till she was fine. I paid the driver for myself and he took off with the other passengers.
I neither knew her nor did I know what to do, but I was there, saying some comforting words to a stranger in pain. I asked her to stand still for a few minutes. We then looked for a place for her to sit. From out of nowhere, her friend joined us.
We made her sit in a nearby grassland and her friend rushed to get a taxi. In the meantime, she examined her leg and her ankle had swollen up (肿胀). It looked like a sprain (扭伤). Once her friend came back, they took the taxi and rushed to a hospital. Before they left, the girl thanked me and said they could manage as it was only a small sprain.
I do not know if I did enough. But I feel I gave some comfort to her in a small way.

It was a cold winter's night. It was getting late and l was tired so I went to bed.
At about two in the morning my phone began to ring. It was from Mum. I started to feel frightened, because she only if something was wrong.1 lived in the same flat as Mum, I rushed down to see what was wrong.
The door would not open. Everything was running through my mind including Mum could be dying and I could not get into her flat. I went around to her bedroom window and could see Mum on the floor. She had heard me and to unlock the door painfully.
Then I entered the flat and what I saw was terrible. I could see Mum's leg was badly broken and it was completely the wrong
way. I rang the ambulance(救护车) and while we were waiting I tried to make Mum comfortable.
The ambulance finally arrived and I it. It was a cold freezing night. The roads were empty and . It seemed that everything was going in a slow way.
We arrived at the hospital and rushed into A&E. The doctor told me that Mum would need an the next day. After Mum fell asleep, I went home to get some sleep.
When I rang the hospital the next morning, Mum had gone to the operating r
oom. Everything was racing through my head. Is she OK? Wi
ll she be safe? Would she it through the operation? Finally that day she was fine. My mum is a very lady and I am so proud of her.
From this I have learned that you should never take family for granted(想当然), everyday every moment you have with them because in my mind family 
is the most important thing you will ever be a part of, so never, ever forget what you have.
