Effects of tourism

Nearly everybody likes traveling. Nowadays, tourism is becoming an indispensable industry in China. Moreover, our government has taken good measures to improve this new industry in recent years. For instance, many appealing scenic and historic spots have been explored. And therefore, thousands upon thousands of tourists around the world flood into China every year.

However, a coin has two sides. Advantages of tourism industry are always accompanied by disadvantages. Those who are in favour of tourism industry argue that our country can benefit a lot from it. On the one hand, we can introduce our splendid national culture to the world. On the other, we can increase our financial income. Additionally, tourism can help to promote the understanding and friendship among the peoples of the world.

The main reason why some people oppose tourism is that the masses cannot benefit from it, because too many tourists will lead to the higher prices of goods. Furthermore, it is also a danger to the environment, because too many tourists will bring more waste, which is difficult to deal with for the moment.

Anyway, as a rising industry, tourism has played its unique role in the development of China.  China is a great country which is endowed with natural beauty and possesses historic relics. So for one thing, we should display our best to the world; and for another, we should take action to avoid any negative effects.

In China, about two-thirds of the cities are surrounded by garbage. In many cities, the garbage is in the open air with on one to take care of it. China will face a critical (关键的) period in its modernization drive in the fifty years to come. As urbanization(城市化) process has quickened, the garbage in cities will become a serious problem to our human life and we should pay great attention to the problem, said Dong Suocheng, executive director of the China Resources Institute.

In the next fifty years, China’s population scale(规模) and urbanization process will reach its top, which will produce more garbage. Considering this, China should make great efforts to develop recycled economy. On the one hand, China should make sure that less garbage will be produced; on the other hand, China should make good use of garbage resources and turn garbage handing into an industry, and make sure that garbage industry will cover every part of garbage processing, from garbage collecting and classifying to garbage transportation and treatment. Animals seem to have the sense to eat when they are hungry and they do not eat more than their bodies need. It has been proved that rats will, when given a choice over a period of time, prefer water with vitamins to water without vitamins even though there is no difference in taste or smell between the two water bottles. When a fragrant flavor（香味）was added to the vitamin-enriched water, the rat did seem to develop a taste for it and kept drinking it even after the vitamins were switched to the clear water. In time, however, they broke the habit and went back to where the necessary vitamins were.

In a classic experiment, babies of 6 to 12 months old were placed in a cafeteria（自助餐厅） feeding arrangement, with a wide selection of baby food before them. They were given what ever food they pointed to or appeared interested in. It was much higher than he could reach from the ground, so Lincoln climbed up the tree. He put the birds softly one by one into their warm little home.

All were surprised to find that Lincoln was not with them.

In a few minutes Lincoln joined them. His shoes were covered with mud.
