九年级英语阅读理解中等难度题查看答案及解析
If you have ever passed the cockpit(驾驶舱) in a flight and tried to understand your pilots' conversation, you probably didn't gain much from them. From terms like "niner" to "Zulu", pilot-speak can sound like its own language.
The special language is called "aviation English". According to the International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO), pilots on international airlines and air traffic controllers on airlines need to speak "aviation English" when they communicate. Aviation English is necessary all over the world because it is unrealistic for a pilot to know all the different languages of the country to which he or she must fly. In addition, most of the phrases flight crew use were born out of a need for clear communication with a few words over an occasionally fuzzy(模糊不清的) radio transmission. Pilots must make effort to reduce their transmission time.
Misunderstandings between pilots and air traffic controllers can lead to disaster, so they must make sure not to misunderstand one another. To avoid making a mistake about understanding with similar sounding consonants, the ICAO has a standard phonetic alphabet: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot Golf. Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu. These words stand for the letters from A to Z. The pronunciation of numbers should also follow exact standards. For example, zero(0) is always "zero", not "oh". 3 becomes "tree". 4 is called "fower",5 becomes "fife", and 9 becomes "niner".
There are also more colorful phrases that pilots say were produced in the sky and shared widely among them. For example, "Feet wet" warns air traffic controllers when a military aircraft is flying overwater. "Pan-pan" is reserved for communication with air traffic controllers. When pilots notice something unusual with their plane that stops short of an immediate emergency, they use "Pan-pan", a signal of urgency(紧迫) and attention. When pilots use this signal, others on the same radio frequency will "shut up and let you get your message across", allowing air traffic control to provide the suitable aid and prevent a great danger in flight.
1.Pilots and air traffic controllers use aviation English in order to ________.
①save the transmission time
②make the orders clear and simple
③avoid mistaking passengers' conversation
④make international communication possible
A.①②③ B.①②④ C.①③④ D.②③④
2.If a pilot says "Papa, November, Two, Tree", it may stand for ________.
A.PU2T B.8811TT C.PN23 D.88NT3
3.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A.An organization called ICAO created aviation English.
B.Aviation English is really necessary on national airlines.
C.A pilot will report "Feet wet" if there is much water in his cockpit.
D."Pan-pan" means the plane meets some trouble and needs attention.
4.What would be the best title for the passage?
A.They Have Their Secret Language B.Pilots' Language Is Hard To Learn
C.Here's What They're Really Saying D.Aviation English Is Developing Quickly

Have you ever wanted to grow your own food inside your home? Scientists in Finland have developed a device(设备) that may do just that.
Unlike a usual vegetable garden, it doesn’t need soil. But, the small device, called the Cell Pod, grows plant cells which are safe to eat in the home.
Lauri Reuter, a biologist, says that instead of using the complete plant as food, scientists take only a small part of it–cells–and grow them in a bio-reactor(生物反应器). These plants have much of the same nutritional(营养的) value that a real plant has. The plant cells which are safe to eat, once fully grown, do not look very good. The Finnish researchers say they also need to improve the taste. However, the Cell Pod can provide important things that help your body to be healthy.
Lauri Reuter adds that the new technology will not be instead of fields for growing fruits and vegetables. However, the device could help save natural resources. All you would need to do is add the seed culture(培养物) to the device, give it water, sit back and then wait. The machine does the rest of the work.
The researchers hope to have a form of the Cell Pod on the market in the next ten years.
1.If you want to grow vegetables inside your home, you need __________.
A. real plants and water B. the seed culture and the Cell Pod
C. the cells and the soil D. the complete plant and the device
2.What can we learn from the passage?
A. The plant cells are more delicious than the real plants.
B. People will not grow fruit and vegetables in the fields.
C. The plant cells are not only healthy but good-looking.
D. People may buy the Cell Pod on the market in the future.
3.What does the writer think of the Cell Pod?
A. It is a usual vegetable garden at home.
B. It is a new useful device for growing food.
C. It is a difficult way of growing plants.
D. It can provide all the nutrition for our body.

Have you ever recycled? To recycle is to take rubbish and make it into something new. Recycling is good for our planet because it makes litter into something that we can use again. Recycling also helps to clean up the litter that makes our streets look dirty.
All kinds of things can be recycled. The most common materials(材料) like glass, plastic, paper, metals, cloth are all recyclable. Sometimes these products are broken down to make the same kinds of products. An example of this type of recycling is using paper to make more paper. Garbage can also be broken down to make completely new items(物品) as well!
Some items, like glass, can be recycled forever(永远)! We can use glass items, then break them down and use them again and again. Aluminum(铝)cans are one of the most successful recycled metals. They can be recycled again and again and nearly 60% of all cans have been recycled.
The average(平均) family of four can produce nearly 2,000 pounds of garbage each year. As time goes on, we have fewer places to put all of this garbage in. Recycling is one way to limit(限制)the amount of garbage we need to put into the land.
The next time you toss a can or bottle into the dustbin, look to see if there is a recycling triangle on the label. It is the international sign for recycling. It means that the item you are going to throw in the dustbin could be recycled .
