It is reported rhino horns are big business. Traditional Chinese medicine uses them to treat illnesses. A kilogram can be sold as much as horn $60,000.As a result, almost all rhino populations are in danger. In order to solve the serious problems, a good way to relieve pressure on the animals might be to fill the market with fakes(仿造品),so rhinos may have a chance to stay alive.
That would need the fakes to be good. But Fritz Vollrath, a zoologist at Oxford University and his partners from Fudan University have come up with a cheap and easy-to-make fake horn that is very similar to the real thing.
The main material of Dr. Vollrath's fake horn is horsehair. Although horses and rhinos look different, they are closely related. Horses do not have horns, of course, but neither do rhinos. The "horns" of rhinos are not made of bones but hairs. The hairs are tied tightly together by a mixture of dead cells. Examinations under a microscope showed that hairs from horses' tails are similar to those in the horns of rhinos.
So how can a fake rhino horn be made? First, find out the right materials. Second, a proper glue should be used. Dr. Vollrath and his partners get a special kind of glue. It is naturally produced by spiders and silkworms. Third, the glued horn is put in an oven to dry. At last, after some polishing, the fake horn looks just like a real one.
DNA would certainly tell the fakes but people's eyes are not able to tell the differences. So by making fake horns, people may help save more rhinos.

A.people have to make fake rhino horns to save rhinos.

It has been around for centuries, but up until very recently, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) wasn't fully accepted abroad. The 2001 film Treatment(《刮痧》)tells the story of a Chinese man in the US who's charged with guasha, a form of TCM treatment, to cure his grandson's disease.
During the last 10 years or so, however, TCM has been getting increasingly popular all over the world. A report says this style of health care, which includes different forms like herbal medicine and exercise, has spread to 183 countries and areas.
"We have set up 10 TCM centers outside China, and all of them are popular among locals," said Wang Guoqiang at a news meeting on Dec 6. "Governments of 86 countries and areas have signed agreements with the Chinese government on TCM corporation(合作)."
One of the reasons behind the growing popularity of TCM is the increase of scientific research into it. And after Tu Youyou-the Chinese scientist who discovered the anti-malaria(抗疟疾)drug qinghaosu(青蒿素)-won the Nobel Prize, TCM became even more famous all over the world.
However, all these achievements in TCM don't mean that it's problem-free. Over the years,TCM has faced challenges in being able to prove that it has certain effects.
Some researchers have suggested TCM should be more exact and work together with western medicine.
"Bringing together with western medicine and TCM, rather than being in competition, is where the potential(潜力)for great effects is," said Bernhard Schwartlander, the China representative(代表)of the World Health Organization.
1.The film Treatment is mentioned in the first paragraph is to .
A. show TCM is increasingly popular
B. introduce the film Treatment to readers
C. prove TCM is not fully accepted abroad
D. arouse readers' interest in Chinese medicine
2.We can learn from the passage that .
A. TCM is not exact in curing diseases
B. 10 TCM centers abroad are all set up by locals
C. 86 countries have cooperated with China on TCM
D. Tu Youyou's success contributes to the popularity of TCM
3.Which of the following can be the best title of the passage?
A. A Report on TCM B. TCM&Western Medicine
C. Opinions about TCM D. TCM Treatment Spreads

One year ago, I worked at a traditional Chinese medicine store. Business was not bad. Every day we mixed medicinal herbs (中药) for patients, so the store was always full of a strong herbal smell.
After I had worked there for a time, a boy of 13 or 14 started coming and sitting on the stairs outside the store for a while every day. It seemed strange to me.
