Before dawn (黎明), 12 very tired girls in worn-out slippers (破拖鞋) went back to bed. Tramper hurried in front of them and lay down on the sofa. There the King found him, circled by worn-out slippers, sound asleep.
“Well?” the King asked. You might think that Tramper told the King about what he had seen, but no. He had enjoyed the salmon (三文鱼) so much that he was hoping for a second supper.
“Two more tries,” said the King. “That’s all!”
The next night, the princesses brought Tramper turkey and a cup of tea for his supper. He ate up the turkey but drank no tea. Instead, he gave the palace parrot his tea and it fell off its sleeping place, sound asleep.
The princesses and Tramper fell asleep, too—or so it seemed. Later that night … the distant sound of silvery music began. The 12 princesses jumped out of bed, into the wardrobe (衣柜), and ran across the garden of ruby roses, through the orchard (果园) of diamond fruit and up the glass steps into the castle. Tramper followed them with the magic scarf over his head.
Again the elves (精灵小矮人) were waiting. Again the princesses danced and danced until their slippers were worn out. Before dawn, the tired princesses made their way home. Tramper hurried ahead of them and lay down on the sofa.
There the King found him, circled by worn-out slippers, sound asleep. “Well?” You might think that Tramper told the King about what he had seen, but no. He had enjoyed the turkey so much that he was hoping for a third supper.
“One more night,” said the King, “… and what’s wrong with the parrot?”

Dawn Loggins, a homeless girl from Burns High School, is going to Harvard University in the fall.
Dawn grew up in a poor situation. Her house had no electricity or running water. So she had to do her homework in the dark. She lived with her parents who took drugs.
One summer, Dawn left home for a onemonth programme in North Carolina for outstanding high school students. When she came back, she found her house empty, with a government notice on the front door. Her parents had left already and Dawn became homeless.

“When I was younger, I was able to look at all the terrible situations, and made a decision for myself that I wasn't going to end up like my parents,” Dawn said.
Dawn applied(申请) to four North Carolina universities and her dream one, Harvard. In March, 2013, she got a reply from Harvard. It said that she was not only admitted_to the university, but also offered a full scholarship(奖学金).
Dawn's story has gone around the world. People have sent best wishes and money to her. Dawn is thankful for their kindness. “When I get to university, I hope to start an organization to help other students in trouble so that they can continue their education. Almost everyone knows the story of Cinderella — a servant (仆人) girl who wears a glass slipper (玻璃鞋) and wins the heart of a prince. Disney has remade the classic fairy tale into a new movie.
We are first introduced to a beautiful girl named Ella.1. Ella then welcomes her stepmother (继母) and her daughters. But when Ella’s father unexpectedly dies too, she finds herself living with a horrible new family. Her stepmother and stepsisters make her into a servant girl. They even rename her Cinderella because she is often covered in cinders (煤灰) because of sleeping by the fireplace.
Most people might become disappointed (沮丧的) and angry in such a situation. But Ella doesn’t. She tells herself to stay strong and be kind.
One day, Ella meets a charming stranger in the woods. She doesn’t know he is a prince.
Soon an invitation to a palace ball comes. Ella might see the young man again.2. As in all good fairy tales, a beggar (乞丐) appears. She uses her magic to help Ella and changes her life forever.
Kenneth Branagh, director of the movie, believes people love Cinderella because they connect with the story on a deep level.
“Cinderella is certainly placed in a hard situation, but she chooses not to be the girl in distress (痛苦) and we see her make strong, positive choices in that situation,” he told Glamour magazine. “3. ”
A.She is the master of her own destiny (命运).
B.However, her stepmother won’t let her go.
C.Whatever she wishes, she will see her dream come true.
D.Her mother dies and her father remarries.
