Environments include biotic parts and abiotic parts. Biotic parts are the living things in an environment: plants, animal, and other organisms. Abiotic parts are the nonliving things. Abiotic parts of an environment include climate, water, earth, light, air and nutrients. The abiotic parts of an environment have an important role. Temperature and amount of water influence which plants and animals can live in a place. An ibis(朱鹮) gets used to living in a warm, wet swamp and cannot live in a hot, dry desert.
