BEIJING (AP)--A fight between a bus driver and a woman passenger who missed her stop caused the bus to fall off a high bridge into China's Yangtze River. Wanzhou police said the 48-year old woman passenger asked the driver to stop after she missed her stop, but the driver didn't. She walked up to the driver's seat and talked angrily with him. The driver turned his head several times to talk angrily. Some of people tried to stop them, but it didn't work. The woman strongly hit the driver on the head with her mobile phone. The driver took his right arm off the steering wheel(方向盘)and fought back, then quickly turned to the left, making the bus out of control. Thirteen people, including the two drivers died at once. Another two died on the way to hospital. The doctors rushed to the place at the news of the accident. By 5 a.m., all of the injured(伤者)were sent to three local hospitals for treatment. A hospital said most of the patients were in a good condition, but a few were still in danger. Because of the icy roads, the highway was closed by police sine Tuesday morning. Picture a young Chinese woman in a field, dressed in traditional hemp clothing, as she picks flowers to create makeup for her cheeks. Imagine the same person making a bamboo sofa, cooking soy sauce from scratch and cooking up all sorts of delicious dishes.
It may sound hard to believe, but such a person exists in modern China, and her name is Li Ziqi. On Dec 14, she won Person of the Year in the category of cultural influence awarded by China Newsweek.
With a fan base of more than 21million people on Sina Weibo and 7million followers on video-sharing site YouTube, Li has made a name for herself in a series of videos that show off a pre-industrial Chinese way of life in rural Sichuan province. "I want to do my part to let more people know about Chinese culture," the vlogger told China.org.cn. "Much of the popularity of my videos should be due to people’s love for Chinese culture."
Li seems to be a master of all kinds of skills - cooking, painting, designing and farming. She raises silkworms to sew a quilt for her grandmother and grows plants. Many videos show her picking seasonal ingredients from her own garden and cooking them up with her wood-fired wok. A warm bowl of soup for the winter, a lighter plate of noodles for the summer, Li follows the seasons in her cooking, as China's traditional 24 solar terms also do, and makes food suitable for the particular climate.
"She told the stories of China's culture and that of China," an officer from Sina Weibo noted. “Li Ziqi smartly showed the spirit of Chinese way of living in her videos".
1.What prize did China Newsweek award Li Ziqi on Dec 14?
2.Does Li have 21 million followers on video-sharing site Youtube?
3.Why do people enjoy watching Li’s videos?
4.How does Li follow the seasons in her cooking?
5.What does the officer from Sina Weibo think of Li Ziqi?

How do students spend their spare time after finishing their homework? Watch TV, play computer games, or go outside to relax? Here’s a good example.
Tim and Kerry Meek are both teachers. They live in the UK with their two daughters: eleven-year-old Amy and nine-year-old Ella. Recently, the Meek family has become the focus of the whole country after they completed 100 different outdoor activities in one year.
The Meek couple didn’t want their children to spend all their free time in front of the TV and become “couch tomatoes”. So about one year ago, the Meeks decided that watching TV and playing computer games were not permitted. Instead, they set 100 tasks for the two girls to do outside. Although Mr. and Mrs. Meek are not outdoor activity fans, they took part in all the activities to encourage their daughters. It turns out that the two sisters really had a good time joining activities.
Every holiday and weekend, whether it’s sunny, rainy or snowy, the Meeks’ would set off to try the activities on their list, including hiking, sailing, climbing, skiing, and so on. The two little girls not only had a wonderful time, but also learned a lot of skills from the activities. They were even able to stand up in front of their school to give a talk for charity. “Our friends spend a lot of their free time doing things which are harmful to their health. Luckily, we’ve had the chance to experience something different.” Amy and Ella also helped their parents to draw up a new list of challenges for the next 12 months.
So we should do more outdoor exercises to keep healthy in our spare time.

请阅读一篇有关“上海垃圾分类”的短文, 根据所提供的信息, 回答问题。
If you are in Shanghai and want to throw a cup of milk tea, be careful. You need to follow these steps: first, pour out any leftover( 残留物) into a wet waste bin; second, put the paper wrapper into a recyclable waste bin; finally, throw the single-use cup and straw(吸管) into a dry waste bin.
Sound complex( 复 杂 的 ) ? You’ll have to get used to it. From July 1st,2019 on, people in Shanghai are required to sort(将…..分类) their garbage(垃圾) according to strict rules. Garbage is divided into wet garbage, toxic( 有 毒 的 )garbage and recyclable garbage. Many other cities in China are planning to create similar sorting rules.
Why should we sort our garbage? The answer lies in the increasing amount of waste we are producing. Chinese cities produce over 200 million tons of waste each year, according to China Economic Net. Most of this waste is buried in landfills, which may pollute water and soil. Moreover, we are running out of space for new landfills.
In fact, more than half of our waste can be recycled. Recyclable garbage can be made into new materials, while wet garbage can be used to make gas, heat and fertilizer(肥料). But in order to recycle efficiently(有效地), we need to sort our garbage.
Can't garbage-processing companies do the sorting job for us? They can. But that requires a lot of work and costs lots of money. Things will become much easier if each of us can sort our own garbage. Besides, the troublesome task of sorting might encourage people to produce less waste. Do you still want to buy that milk tea?

In the modern society, the traffic problem has become more and more serious, which has aroused(引起) wide public concern(关心), especially in the rush hour , at some time or other, people would rather walk on the street than drive the car, and the line people waiting for the bus can be as long as 10 meters. Because a great number of office workers go to work and go off work at the same time, most private cars and buses are on the roads at the same time, which of course leads to traffic jams(交通堵塞).
But how to solve it? As far as I’m concerned, for one thing, the government should build more roads to meet the needs of cars; for another, we should call for people to take a bus instead of driving their own cars. At times, we can also ride bikes to go to work or visit somewhere. Not only do we strengthen ourselves in this way, but also we protect the environment. In a word ,if all of us take actions to solve it, I believe there will not be a word named traffic jam .

Halloween is a strange holiday. It started several centuries ago in Europe. It began as “Hallow Evening” meaning “holy night”. At that time November 1st was called “All Saints' Day” and people honoured all the saints who did not have their own special day. People believed that October 31st was the time when all the evil spirits were supposed to be active. So people would play all sorts of pranks on each other.
Black is one of the traditional Halloween colors, probably because Halloween festivals and traditions took place at night.Pumpkins are a symbol of Halloween, so orange has become the other traditional Halloweencolor.Making lanterns out of pumpkins is a Halloween custom.
Halloween is great fun for children. They dress up as ghosts (鬼), witches (女巫), Small children go “TrickorTreating”.They wear costumes, knock on doors, and shout, “Trick or Treat!” People almost always choose to give them candy as a treat, instead of choosing to receive a trick from the children.Adults sometimes “trick or treat” their friends, too.Usually the “treat” is a glass of wine or some small gifts.
