I have always wanted to write．1.When Harry Potter came out，I was so fascinated with it．In those books，every wonderful thing was created by ink on a page．

Every child has a dream of what they want to be, right? When Renee Butts was little, her dream was to become a volunteer firefighter because her father was one. Sadly, when she was 14, her father died and she was never able to volunteer with him. Renee's story doesn't end there, however, which is why I think of her as a true hero. She was strongminded and never gave up, which makes her a good firefighter.
Some days she must be ready to deal with any emergency, like fighting a fire, dealing with a car accident or helping someone who's sick. Other days, she is in the driver's seat. When I asked Renee what the best part of her job is, she replied, “Helping people and saving their lives.” I think that shows signs of being a true hero. She's always glad to do anything for anyone in need. With 140 people in her station, Renee is one of the only three women.
I think she's great. We could never live without people like her who is glad to help others. Renee's deed helps me believe that I can do anything. I hope someday to be just like her: to wake up and help people every day.

“Today my dream comes true. I have always wanted to be a Grand Slam (全胜) champion.”
These are the words of Chinese tennis player Li Na after she became the first Asian woman to win a Grand Slam final in the French Open on June 4. Li Na’s birthday was February 26, 1982. She is 172cm tall and weighs 65kg. She’s from Wuhan, Hubei.

When I was little, I loved picture books. Even if my parents didn't have time to read the story to me, I could look at the pictures and follow the story. Then I moved on to comic books with their exciting stories of superheroes and, later, to novels. I forgot all about picture books and how wonderful they were.
Last week though, my friend gave me A Fish with a Smile by Jimmy Liao, a writer who makes picture books for older readers. I found the story about a thoughtful man and his pet fish very meaningful. I also thought the pictures were beautiful. Now I've become a fan of picture books all over again.
Jimmy Liao is one of Asia's most famous picture book writers and has had bestsellers at home and abroad. I just finished reading one of his most popular books, Turn Left, Turn Right. The book is about a man and a woman who meet by chance in a park. The woman scribbles down his phone number, but the rain washes it away and they never find each other again. The story touches your heart because the two characters never realize that they are neighbors.
Jimmy Liao's pictures are often funny and cute. He included a rabbit in his book, Secrets in the Woods, and the rabbit has reappeared in his books ever since, partly because readers like it so much. However, his stories can also be serious. They show what it's like to feel lonely in the city, fearful(恐惧) of losing your job or someone you love.
I think this is why Jimmy Liao's works have been so popular.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to leave school and have my own life. The only way was to work in the local paper factory in my town.
