After a year of being prepared, Laura Dekker can’t wait to set sail .Last August ,the Dutch government decided that Laura Dekker was too young to take on the challenge of sailing around the world alone. But after a year of preparing herself , Laura has been allowed to sail.

One hot night last August, I tried everything I could think of — toys, songs etc. to make him fall into sleep, but he just couldn’t do it. Since I believed that a long night was waiting for me ahead, I had no choice but to bring a TV into his room to kill off the hours until dawn. This past week, I took a huge step in my adult life. I flew on a plane and got to a new city that I had never been to all by myself.1..So it took a lot for me to be able to overcome my fear of flying on a plane alone.
