Dolphins are my favorite animals. They live on fish, shrimps (虾) and so on. They are mammals (哺乳动物). Their babies are born in the water. They can grow up to three meters and a half as their parents. Dolphins live in groups and speak to each other in their own language. But they are quite different from almost all land animals. Their brain is as big as humans’, so they are very clever. People often train them so that they can give dolphin shows which can bring people lots of happiness and joy. Dolphins can live a long life—at least 20 or 30 years. Like some other animals, dolphins use sounds to help them find their way around. They also use these sounds to talk to each other and to help them find food. So sound is like their eyes and mouths. They do not use their ears to receive sounds, but use the jaws (下颚)- the lower part of the mouth.
Dolphins are friendly and peaceful. They never hurt people. Instead, they have saved many people in danger. For thousands of years, there are many stories about dolphins and humans. In the 19th century, in a dangerous part of the sea near New Zealand, there was a dolphin. The seamen liked him very much and gave him a very good name, Jack. From 1871 to 1903, Jack met every boat in the area and showed it the way. In1903, a passenger on a boat with the name of “The Penguin” shot and hurt Jack. Luckily, the dolphin didn’t die, and after a long time, he was well again. He guides the boats through the area for nine more years, but he refused to help the boat “The Penguin”.
Unluckily, the number of the dolphins is getting smaller and smaller today. Some people still kill dolphins for money. If we don’t protect them, maybe we will lose our good friends one day. As a student, I hope more and more people should take action to protect dolphins.
根据短文内容,判断下列句子正误。正确的用“A”表示,不正确的用“B” 表示。
1.Dolphins are not only fish but also mammals.

Amy is a biologist(生物学家)working at a marine(海洋的) park. These kinds of parks provide fun and education for tens of thousands of people each year.
Amy takes care of many animals in the park, but she also does important research. As she observes the animals that she looks after, she learns more about their needs and behavior. This information helps the animals in the park, but it can also be used to protect other members of the species in the wild.
It's hard work to look after these animals. Their needs often change according to different hours of the day. So Amy must depend on her science knowledge and good number sense to help her make the right decisions all day long.
Even though dolphins spend much of their time underwater, they are mammals(哺乳动物). This means that they must come to the surface to take in air. Dolphins give birth to their young. They're not hatched from eggs. Just like all other mammals, mother dolphins must nurse, or feed milk to their babies.
Amy and her team know this first-hand. One of their dolphins recently gave birth. A baby dolphin is not small, either. It was almost 1 meter long the day it was born. A big dolphin usually eats about 4% of its body weight in food every day. Amy knows that a mother dolphin that is nursing needs twice the food. So when the baby dolphin was born, Amy immediately doubled the mother's food every day.
1.How much food does a 300 kg mother dolphin need every day?
A.600kg. B.12kg. C.24kg D.52 kg.
2.What does Amy need to make the right decision according to this passage?
A.Good eyes and quick mind.

C.Love and care for animals.
D.Science knowledge and good number sense.
3.What does the underlined word "observes" in Paragraph 2 mean?
A.nurses the young animals B.watches something carefully

B.It offers fun and education to tens of thousands of people.
C.It helps dolphins to feed milk to their babies.
D.It helps underwater animals to come to the surface.
5.This passage is mainly about __________________________.

(2019河南C篇)Thousands of years ago, Britain was covered by thick forests, home to many animals which no longer live in the United Kingdom. There were wolves and bears, many different kinds of deer and large wild cows. There were less than four million people. They lived in small villages protected by wooden walls from the animals outside.
All this has changed, of course. Now the population of the United Kingdom has increased to sixtyfive million. Threequarters of Britain is covered with fields, towns or cities. Although 25 percent of land is countryside, new methods of farming mean that there are fewer birds and small animals living in fields than ever before. The United Kingdom is one of the few countries in the world that does not have a large wild animal that eats meat. In Scotland there are only 400 wildcats, but these are much smaller than wolves.
Some people would like to change things, however! Some organizations and writers say that Britain needs to become more natural again. They suggest that trees and plants that grew in the UK before towns and cities were built should be allowed to grow again. They even say that large wild animals which have not lived in the UK should be helped to return and live wild. They call this “rewilding”.
Not everyone agrees. In the last twenty years, over one million trees which at first grew in Scotland have been planted and there are plans for more—but wild animals? Some people ask if wolves will attack sheep or even humans. They are also angry that rewilding might mean an end to walking in the hills which so many people enjoy. So far there are no wolves or bears in Britain's forests—but soon there might be!
Which paragraph gives opinions from “rewilding”supporters?
A.Paragraph 1. B.Paragraph 2. C.Paragraph 3. D.Paragraph 4.

Plastic snow falls from the sky.
When you think of the Arctic(北冰洋), you may imagine an icy land of white snow. And some people may imagine it as the last really clean place left on Earth. In fact, we have polluted the deepest oceans with plastic rubbish, and now, CNN says, "It's the Arctic's turn."
German scientists have recently found microplastics in Arctic snow. Microplastics are pieces of plastic smaller than 5 millimeters. Sadly, the scientists found 1,800 pieces of microplastics per liter(升) of snow. That may cause terrible air pollution.
How is plastic pollution reaching the Arctic? According to scientists, "It's clear that most of the microplastics in the snow come from the air. They fall off plastic objects and are moved by the wind. They mix with ice in the air and fall to the ground as snow."
Are they bad for us? We do know that our bodies cannot take in "large" pieces of microplastics. However, if the plastics are small enough, they can find ways into our bodies and stay there for a long time, which can be bad for our health.
Microplastics have also been found in rivers and oceans around the world. Research has found that they flow over long distances and into our oceans, damaging ecosystems(生态环境) along the way. When we wash clothes with plastic fibers(纤维), they start in our wastewater. The wastewater then flows into rivers and out to sea. They are eaten by sea animals there. If people then eat these animals, it means that we're eating the plastic as well.
1.According to the passage, the underlined word "microplastics" are pieces of________.
A.plastic bigger than 5 millimeters B.metal smaller than 5 millimeters
C.plastic smaller than 5 millimeters D.plastic smaller than 5 centimeters
2.Most of microplastics in air fall off ________.
A.plastic objects B.the water C.sea animals D.our body

② People eat animals in the sea.
③ People wash clothes with plastic fibers.
④ Microplastics are eaten by sea animals.
A.③①④② B.①③②④ C.③①②④ D.③②①④
4.The writer wrote the passage mainly to tell us ________.
A.not to travel to the Arctic
B.not to eat animals
C.to use fewer plastic objects
D.to wear a mask(口罩) when going out
5.Where can the passage probably be taken from?
A.A story book. B.A doctor's dairy.

阅读下面短文,按要求完成下列各题。
Zoology is everything about animals. And people who study it are called zoologists. They want to learn about the difference between different kinds of animals, where they come from, and how they live.
What do zoologists do?
There are many different kinds of zoologists. Some try to learn everything about one animal, and some learn about a group of animals, some try to understand where new kinds of animals come from and other zoologists are interested in how animals can get sick. Many zoologists study what animals do when they are with other animals.
A famous zoologist
Charles Darwin is probably the most famous zoologist. He showed that animals are all one big family and that every kind of animal changes slowly to match the place where they live. This is called “evolution(进化)”. During his life, people laughed at Darwin, saying that people and animals couldn’t come from the same family. However, many zoologists today agree that Darwin was right.
Why is it important?
Understanding animals is important because people are animals. When we study animals, we learn about ourselves.
Do you know?
•Frogs can breathe(呼吸)without their mouths! When frogs are not in water, their bodies can take air through their skin.
•Some people say sharks never get sick, but that is not true. Sharks get sick, just like any other animal.
