One of the things I like best about school is my art class. We have a great teacher named Mrs. Hilbert. She is a wonderful artist (艺术家). I love to watch her draw and paint. She taught us how to choose the right colours for our paintings. She plays good music while we draw and paint. We draw and paint almost every day in class. Some days we look at pictures of other artists. It is interesting to do this. It helps me to think of things that I want to paint or draw. We will have an art show in November this year. Our works will be in one of the libraries in our town. We are inviting people from the community (社区) to our art show. Our parents will go with us. I am working on three paintings now. And I hope I can show one of my paintings in the show.

2.What’s the name of the art teacher?

Lightning is one of the most beautiful natural phenomena (现象). It is also one of the most deadly phenomena. A bolt of lightning is six times hotter than the surface (表面) of the sun and gives out 30, 000 amps of electricity (电). It can travel at 100, 000 kilometers per hour and has the ability to hit a target up to 40 kilometers away. About 1,000 people around the world are killed by lightning every year.
Only about ten percent of people struck (击中) by lightning will actually die, but the others are actually very badly injured (受伤), with burns, broken bones, blindness, deafness, paralysis, or memory loss. However, when the electricity passes through their brains (大脑), it can occasionally have unusual and even positive effects (积极作用). Some blind (瞎的) people have got their sight back after being struck by lightning. One woman said a psychological test showed her intelligence (智力) had greatly improved (提高) and one man said he could no longer feel cold at all and could go out in temperature below zero in just a T-shirt!
So what should you do to stay safe in a thunderstorm? The most important rule is to stay inside, but do not go near phones, electrical appliances, plumbing or water. If you are struck outside, do not take shelter under a tree. Instead, roll (卷) yourself up into a ball on the ground as small as possible. And do not think it has to be raining in order for lightning to strike.
Strangely, lightning seems to prefer (偏爱) some people to others. If you are a man, you are more likely to be struck by lightning than a woman!

Everybody knows that soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world.
Soccer is not a new sport. People all over the world played the game in different ways long ago. For example, in China nearly 2,000 years ago, soldiers kicked a ball as part of their exercise. Five hundred years ago in Europe, games in the street were common.
Soccer became popular in England in the 1800s. Different schools, clubs and groups played with different rules. In 1863, these English groups had meetings. They organized(组织)the different games into one game with similar rules. Soon, they formed the Football Association.
Not everyone agreed with the new rules. In England, some groups wanted to hold the ball with their hands so these groups formed rugby clubs. Groups in the United States also wanted to use their hands in the sport so they formed"football"clubs. Americans who didn't want to use their hands called the game “soccer”. Soccer is a short form of the word association.
From England, soccer began to grow. The first official international game of soccer was played between Scotland and England in 1872. By the 1880s, there were professional soccer teams in several parts of Europe. English players also introduced soccer to Africa, South America and New Zealand.
Soccer soon became very popular all around the world. FIFA, the international football federation(联盟), met for the first time in 1904. Seven countries came to the meeting. The first World Cup was in Uruguay in 1930. Only 13 countries played in the Uruguayan World Cup.
The World Cup is now the most popular sporting event in the world. Over 720 million people around the world watch the final game of the World Cup.
Next time you're playing soccer with your friends, remember that you're part of a long history of a fun and exciting sport.

2.Why did people form “football”clubs in America?
3.When was the first official international game of soccer?
