An American named Crum invented potato chips in 1853, although that was not his intention (意图). He was a cook at a beautiful restaurant in Saratoga Springs, New York. Yao Ming, the famous basketball player, was born in Shanghai in 1980. He is his parents’ only child, and he is unusual because he is very tall. His mother and father are very tall, too. Both his parents were basketball players. His mother played for the Chinese national women’s team and his father played for a team in Shanghai.
