Science and technology have developed more rapidly in the past 100 years than in any period of human history.
One of its results is an excessive growth of information. The era of information has already come, and our life has changed in a subtle way. The development and popularization of the Internet, along with cell phones and all kinds of electronic devices have influenced our habits a lot.
Some people state that with the explosion of information, it is much easier and more convenient for us to find out anything we would like to know, which can help us to develop our creativity.
However, many people argue that information explosion is not the equivalent of knowledge explosion. Moreover, with the continuously growing number of information, the world becomes a confusion to us with both useful news and unwanted messages, which is far from helping stimulating our creativity.

Many people spend more than four hours per day on WeChat, and it is redefining the word “friend”. Does friending someone on social media make him or her your friend in real life?
Those with whom you attended a course together, went to a party and intended to cooperate but failed take up most of your WeChat “friends”. In chat records, the only message may be a system notification (通知),“Somebody has accepted your friend request” or “ You have accepted somebody’s friend request”.
Sometimes when seeing some photos shared on “Moments”,you even need several minutes to think about who this person is and when you became “friends”.
Also, you may be disturbed by mass messages sent from your unacquainted “friends”, including requests for voting for their children or friends. You would have thought about removing this type of “friends” and sort out your connections. But actually you did not do that as you were taught that social networking is valuable to one’s success. 高三英语读写任务中等难度题查看答案及解析
阅读下面的短文,然后以约30词概括短文的要点。
Reading exercises has a great influence on a person. If pictures, still or moving, accompany the reading, the memory will keep half the material for a long time.
Don't believe those who say that bad reading cannot hurt a person. How do they know what will hurt others? Wouldn't you rather believe the experience of the ages that says, "A man is what he has read" and "Our reading and studies carry over into our lives"?
Let's get back to the beneficial effects of thinking while reading. It helps us to enlarge our minds. We understand more about the universe, its people and many of its wonders. We learn to think and observe in new ways. We certainly do get a feeling for the language we are reading. All good writers in any language have been readers who read critically and creatively and continuously.
Finally, reading will and must broaden my sympathies, expand my love for others and set it in action. How can a person who has a bit of kindness in his heart read about all the miseries and tragedies that people and nations have and not want to do and actually do what he can to relieve those people in every way he can and as much as he can?

The generation gap between students and teachers is becoming more significant with only 3.3 percent out of a survey group of 1,000 students from 30 key middle schools in the city saying they would be willing to tell their teachers of their inner thoughts.
In today’s educational environment, teachers are positioned to be the authority figure for learning instead of also becoming good friends in the life of students.
As only students with good marks in exams are considered the “ apples in the eyes” of the teachers, most students think their teachers to be partial (偏心).
“ I feel sad to hear such remarks”, said Yu Yi , a well-known special-class teacher.
She recalled that in the past, teachers and students would play basketball together or comment on the novels while sitting on the grass during a break. But today, study and good marks are the only topics of conversation between students and teachers.
“Schools are not only the place where knowledge is imparted (传授) but also where students are taught how to be an upright person,” Yu said. “The success of a person is not merely determined by intelligence but also by emotional state. ”
Yang Xiong, director of the Juvenile Research Institute, said the educational system which focuses on examinations should be held to be substantially responsible.

The man in the case is a so-called adult baby, because his deeds make him almost the same as a baby. He cannot take care of himself. He is unable to go to school, let alone finish studies. He even relies on his grandmother to feed him.
However, he burns money faster than any normal student. He spent about 2 million yuan in two years overseas, but could not finish even the preparatory courses. We do not mean to judge his choice, but someone who lacks the basic ability to survive has little chance of success in any modern society.
In a later interview, the mother of the boy was in tears and said she regretted not having taught her son well. She also told the story about how she “educated” her son: meeting all his demands, even the unreasonable ones. As bike-sharing booms in China, a guideline was released by the government to promote a new form of the sharing economy - this time involving vehicles.
Car-sharing, which provides an alternative for people to travel in cities, will be the new innovation in a service model. The released guideline focuses on legal status, insurance and regular maintenance of cars before they join sharing services. It encourages the development of car-sharing, which is expected to reduce the liking to individually buy vehicles and ease traffic congestion amid a surge in recent years of private-car ownership.
“However, there is a long way to before the purpose of the guideline comes true,” said Xia Xueluan, a professor of sociology. “First, a car costs at least 100.000 yuan, almost 500 times that for a shared bicycle. Besides, shared cars also take the same spaces as other private cars, so parking will be another problem.”
“Meanwhile, traditional car rental companies are competing with the emerging car-sharing business. It’s estimated the charges will be almost the same for both forms of cars rentals,” Xia said. “How to survive fierce competition will remain a challenge for car-sharing providers,” he added.

高三英语读写任务中等难度题查看答案及解析
请阅读下面短文,并按照要求用英语写一篇 150 词左右的文章。
The National Outline (纲要) for Educational Reform and Development is bringing change to China’s annual College Entrance Examination.
Currently, a student’s score on the College Entrance Examination is the only factor determining his or her future. Universities set minimum scores in screening (筛选) prospective students, and only those whose scores are higher than the minimum are admitted. The outline suggests that universities choose students based on not only the results of the entrance exam, but also other criteria. For example, if a student’s score is lower than his peers’, but he shows great potential in the subject he’s applying for, then the college might consider admitting him despite the lower general score.
The outline also proposes that some subjects, as a pilot project (试点项目), carry out multiple exams each year. This means that if a student fails an exam, he may have other chances at the exam in the coming semester. And to improve the system for higher education, China will gradually classify exams according to different kinds of education. The outline states that entrance exams for colleges and universities should be organized by the Ministry of Education, while exams for vocational schools (职业学校) should be organized by provincial educational departments.
