If you’re in an area with poor air quality levels, or if an infectious illness has been going around, wearing an N95 face mask is a great way to protect your lungs and overall health.
Why to choose N95 face mask
N95 face masks are a great choice for protecting your lungs from dry particles(颗粒) in the air, which could include dust, or biological viruses. You can wear one when there’s been a flu outbreak in your area, or if pollutants or a fire has made air quality poor. These masks are made of structured, lightweight foam and fit over your nose and mouth.
How to choose N95 face mask
Depending on the particular N95 mask you choose, available sizes range from extra small and small to medium and large. If possible, try on a couple of sizes before you purchase one. Make sure the mask feels right and doesn’t slip on your face.
Store your masks correctly
Face masks tend to have large market in demand and sell out fast during certain times, such as during an outbreak of an infectious illness or when a region experiences intense pollution. Be always prepared by having some on hand for you and each of your family members. You can click the link below to purchase some. It’s necessary for you to have 2-3 masks per family member.
1.Which item can’t be prevented by N95 mask?
A.flu viruses B.damp air particles
C.dust particles D.fire smoke
2.When you prepare to buy masks, you need to______ .
A.choose right-sized masks for yourself
B.make masks move fluently on face
C.choose same-sized masks for families
D.buy different-sized masks for yourself
3.Where can you find this passage?
A.fashion magazine B.grocery leaflet
C.online shopping mall D.outdoor advertisement

If you've been joining in chat room conversations, or trading e-mail with Web pals, you have become one of the millions who write in a peculiarly short form of English.
And you've got a sense of humor about short forms like SOHF(=sense of humor failure) to describe Internet newcomers who don't understand you.
Across the globe, every night teenagers and their elders are “talking” online—many of them are talking at the same time.
It's fast: try talking to six people at once. It's brief: three or four words per exchange. It takes wit, concentration, and quick fingers.
And it requires tremendous linguistic economy. There's neither time nor space for explanations. Why consume precious key-strokes telling six friends you have to leave for a moment to take care of your little brother when BRB(=be right back) will do? Want to enter a conversation? Just type PMFJI(=pardon me for jumping in). Interested in whom you're talking to? Type A/S/L, the nearly universal request to know your pal's age, sex and location. You may get 15/M/NY as a response from your pal.
If something makes you laugh, say you're OTF(=on the floor),or LOL(=laughing out loud),or combine the two into ROTFL(=rolling on the floor laughing).
And when it's time to get back to work or go to bed, you type GTG(=got to go) or TTYL(talk to you later).
People want to write as fast as possible, and they want to get their ideas across as quickly as they can. Capital letters are left in the dust, except when expressing emotion, as it takes more time to hold down the “shift” key and capitals. Punctuation is going, too.
1.In order to talk to several people at the same time on the Internet_______.
A. you have to speak fast and fluently
B. you have to express your ideas in a brief way
C. you should speak with wit and humor
D. one should pay much attention to the accuracy of the words
2.If you get 17/F/NY as an answer to your A/S/L, it means_______.
A. the person on the other end is 17 from New York and he is fine
B. you are talking to a girl who is 17 and lives in New York
C. you are talking to 17 girls who are from New York
D. the person who are talking to you is a 1.7-foot tall New York girl
3.To save time on the Internet_______.
A. some people leave their letters in the dustbin
B. some people never use “shift” in their writing
C. many people leave the capital and punctuation
D. people seldom use capital letters or punctuation

If you rent an apartment in Beijing, you also rent the landlord or landlady for at least a year. It's important you find a good match because you have to deal with them in the long term. For me, it was love at first sight with the elderly couple who owns my apartment.
It was quite a tough trying to find the right apartment when I first arrived in Beijing. The apartments were either unsuitable or I find fault with the owners who looked indifferent at best and unfriendly at worst. But that all changed when the renting agent's car stopped in front of a hutong house in the heart of the capital.
I saw an elderly couple, in their 70s perhaps, waving to me. They were warm and welcoming at first glance, and when I saw them attentively hanging up the curtains in what would become my bedroom, I was just about sold on the place and the owners!
Chinese people talk about yuanfen, meaning fate that brings people together. Before I met my current landlords, I thought the concept of yuanfen was overrated. A generous landlady who liked me and wanted me to move into her apartment had used the term in reference to me. But it was this lovely couple that changed my mind about the concept.
We have become accustomed to visiting each other at home. The couple's apartment is lovingly decorated, boasting a recent wedding photo of themselves taken in bridal wear. The landlord likes to smoke and sip tea, while the landlady takes great pride in her appearance.
After three years, I dare say they treat me a bit like a “daughter”, despite having two grown sons, one of them close by. They give me gifts of tea or clothes, and I bring them souvenirs from my trips. A match made in heaven, indeed!
1.How did the author feel about renting an apartment in Beijing?
A. It was a piece of cake.
B. There were lots of unfriendly owners.
C. It was worth trying different apartments.
D. It was not so easy to find a suitable apartment.
2.What did the elderly couple do when they first met the author?
A. They looked indifferent and find fault with the author.
B. They gave a warm welcome and took good care of the house.
C. They liked the author and wanted her to move into their apartment.
D. They were nice and gave her gifts of tea or clothes.
3.Which one is correct about the elderly couple?
A. They are newly married. B. They are nice and easy to get along with.
C. They love drinking tea. D. They live together with their two sons.
4.Which one is the best title for this text?
A. Love at first sight B. My experience in Beijing
C. A lovely couple D. Heaven on earth

People in Shanghai can quench their thirst with high quality water if the Shanghai Water Authority (SWA) is able to make good on its word. It has vowed to make the city’s water match its status as a world class city.
“The current tap water quality meets national standards, but, compared with that of the European Union and the United States, it still needs to be improved.” said the SWA’s director general, Hang Jiayi.
In other developed countries, water fountains can be found almost everywhere—people do not bother with bottled drinking water.
By 2020, the water of the Huangpu River will be treated to reduce the amount of organic waste in it. Major water works that draw water from the Huangpu will need more treatment facilities to improve the colour, texture, ammonia(氨)and nitrogen content before 2010.
These treatment facilities are expected to cost 4 billion yuan, something that could affect the price of water, according to Chen Yin, SWA’s deputy director general.
Chen said that replacing water pipes was also a key project. The city’s aged pipes are mostly to blame for the bad water quality.
The SWA has started the water facilities renovation(更新)work, including the more than 14,000 kilometres of indoor piping, 107,000 tanks on top of the buildings, and more than 6,000 underground facilities.
World Water Day came on March 22, and this year’s theme is “Water for the future”. Beijing is also drawing up plans during China’s Water Week, which runs until March 28.
By 2010, the water for the Shanghai EXPO is to be above World Health Organization standards. And, the people of Beijing will be able to drink their tap water as well.

A. by 2020 B. in the first half of this year C. by 2010 D. by 2008
2.What step need not be taken in order to improve the tap water?
A. The water of the Huangpu River will be treated. B. Aged water pipes will be treated.

A. The tap water quality in Shanghai hasn’t met national standards.
B. World Water Day fell on March 22 this year.
C. The people of Beijing cannot drink their tap water now.
D. The treatment of the water of Huangpu River has been finished.
4.What is the main idea of the passage?
A. The cost of treating the tap water.
B. How to reach the water standards of developed countries.
C. The project for making tap water drinkable in Shanghai and Beijing.
D. The progress of treating the water of Huangpu River.
