Last month our school held a Reading Week, which aim was to encourage the students to reading widely. During the week, book lovers recommended a plenty of good books suitable for high school students. The poetry recitation contest was another amazed activity for the students to bring his talent into full play. All the contestants took turns read their favorite poems to the audience. Last Sunday I saw a worst storm in years. It came sudden and went on for over three hours. After lunch, I went into my room to have a rest. The air was hotter, and all is quiet. I just come back from Britain last week. I was luckily enough to be one of the student from different countries to visit the UK from Feb.16 to 28. We paid a visit to many places, like London, Oxford or the Lake District. I learned much about British culture and history in London, where was my favorite. I also liked Oxford, in which I saw much more old buildings. The Lake District was beautiful, but it was pity that it rained heavily when they were there. The most excited thing for me in the Britain was that I made a lot of friends there.

My father and I stayed at the South Lake Hotel for a week when we visit Beijing last month. It is in the downtown area, but it is easy to go to anywhere from the hotel by public transport. One month before, with the College Entrance Examination around the corner, 1 was nervous and in low spirit because of my poor performance. The day before yesterday, I went to the bookstore which is near our school to buy the reference book. It was Saturday, so there was many people. With the helps of the shop assistants, I quickly got the book I needed. I was about to leave while I found someone trying to steal a man’s money. Although I was nervous, but I tried to think of a way to help. Suddenly, a good idea occurred me. I stepped on the man’s foot deliberate.
