I often quarrel about my mother over whether I can watch TV after school. She holds view that senior three students have to make fully use of every minute to work hard at their lessons. It seems to me that once I am allowed to do that, I'll unable to control myself and forget all about my study. She also thinks it is bad for my eye. But I really can't accept her ideas. In my opinions, watch TV can set my mind at rest after a day's hard works. Besides, it is important for us to know what had happened at home and at abroad. Thus, we shouldn't be forbidden to watch TV.

Tina and I had been good friend for years. We often did things together, so one day Tina didn’t talk to me and just sat by herself. I don’t know what was wrong. Time flies! This is a third year that I have been in this school. In the past two and a half years, our school had organized many activities. What impressed me more was an activity called “Learning to Farm”. In an autumn afternoon, we were sent to a farm which we learned to plant potatoes. Having been in the city for so a long time, we were very happy to go to the countryside. After divided into three groups, we started to work. Some students cut potatoes into pieces; some dug holes, and the others put the pieces of potatoes into the hole, put the earth back and pushed them down hard. We continued doing that until all the work was done. Although we were exhausted, but we felt fulfilled on our way back home.

How should you do when your parents become angry? If your parents got mad, try to have a conversation with them about it. Remembering not to shout at them. They usually will try to change, but they will take some time because they get angry all their life. You may have to change for your method a couple of times. Do any nice things for your parents that they don’t expect---like cooking, washing clothes or clean the floors. If this doesn’t work, bring in friend that you feel comfortable, and have him or her help you.

We will always remember the old man, who made great contributions for the Olympic Games.

This morning I got up early and went to school as usually, only to find there were nobody in the classroom because it is Sunday. “How a bad memory I have!” I couldn’t help laughing. People who are near-sighted can only look things that are very close to their eyes. Everything before their eyes seem unclear. Many people do a lot of close work, writing, reading and sewing become near-sighted. So they have to wear glass so as to see distance objects clearly. People who are far-sighted suffered from just the opposite problem. Although they can't see things that are far away, they have difficulty reading a book if they hold them at an arm's length. If they want to do many reading, they have to wear glasses, too. Other people do not see clearly because of their eyes aren't exactly of the right shape.

Failure is part of our life. Somebody has ever achieved great success without lots of failures. One experience left lasting impression on me. I’ve been fond of playing the piano since my childhood. Last year there was a piano competition for teenager in my city and I take part in it. I couldn’t wait to show off. The day finally came. However, when I was on the stage I was very nervous that I made several mistakes while playing. My performance was a completely failure!
It was only after the competition when I realized my failure resulted in my lack of practice. From then on, I devoted more time to play the piano because I firmly believe that practice make perfect.
