Our school has had a survey on reading. It shows that 55 percent the students spend their time reading textbooks after the school. Only 10 percent enjoy read literature. Why? They don’t have enough time but they have too much homework to do. Some complain that literary work are so thick that they have hardly enough patient to finish them. Others who only concentrate in how to get high scores simply admit that reading literature won’t help them with their exams. What’s more, some students show no interest in literature. In fact, books play a important role in our life. Not only can reading make us relaxing, and it also helps us learn the customs and cultures in the past and at present, at home and abroad.

Last summer I pay a visit to London. Now I am very glad to share the experience with the class.

Li Hua is an English learner who want to improve his reading skills, and he rarely practices. Yesterday he came and asked us for advices. “Any good athlete,” I said, “who will tell you he practices hardly to get in shape and achieve high honors. Seldom we hear of any athlete becoming a champion without any effort. We consider training to be a part of the game. Once he is in shape, it is easier of an athlete to succeed. Last Friday we have a discussion about whether it is the only way out for senior students to go to college. Views vary from person to person. The majority of us consider this very necessary to go to college. They think it can be widen their knowledge and improve their qualities. Only in this way can they find better jobs before graduation. Very few students think it no use go to university, because the tuition is too high for their family to afford. What’s more, it’s rather hard for college graduates to seek satisfied jobs. Thirty percents of the students, however, believe “All roads lead Rome.” Therefore, it doesn’t make some difference whether they go to college or not.

Yesterday afternoon our school invites Professor Li from Beijing University to give us, Senior 3 students, report. Professor Li is engaged in psychology, whose report were about how to prepare the lessons scientifically for the National College Entrance Examination.
On his report he emphasized the importance of a good habit of study and rest. And meanwhile she replied to some questions from both teachers or students.
As for me, what Professor Li said is very much to the point. Recent, I have always been felt a headache, unable to concentrate on classes. My summer travel started terribly .I was at the Shanghai Railway Station buy a ticket to Hang Zhou. I was going to visit a friend here and after that I would go to Xiamen for long holiday. I bought my ticket but turned around to pick up my bag Form the floor and then I realized that someone had stolen it. Luckily I had all my money on my pocket, but the only clothes I had was those I had on. It felt very strange to travel without any luggages. When I finally arrived at my friend he lent to me lots of clothes. I feel very happy that I could change my clothes at last.
