In six months, I will be 50 but I already know what I’ll regret. This is the answer. “if anything had been different, I wouldn’t be who I am today.” Being like what I am today is so great that I’d never want to change it. But…1.
KIDS. I wish I had spent more time with my kids. 2. But I worked really hard and, I admit, I probably avoided them when they were really young and difficult to wake up and get ready for school when they were younger.
MONEY. I wish for 15 years or so I wasn’t so focused on money.
CREATIVITY. I began my career in my 20s doing things that were really creative that I loved. I was trying to write a novel. I was trying to do a TV show. I was always around people I loved so much. And I spent time with them because I loved them and not because I wanted anything else. I wish I had stuck with that. Now, in my 40s, I’m trying to catch up. 3.
HUMILITY. When I first made some money, I became a bit too proud. I started investing in all of these horrible companies and having horrible friends. 4. If I were humble and just went back to what I loved, I bet I’d be happier.
DISAGREEMENT. 5. I still have a hard time with that. I wish when someone does something that I don’t like or agree with I would say “no” a bit more often. I’ve gotten into a lot of bad situations because I didn’t say “no”. Here are two cases where I should have said “no” more often: when someone treats me badly and when I don’t want to do something but I feel bad about hurting someone.
Anyway, if I had a time machine, would I go back in time? I’m not sure. It’s OK to feel regretful some times.

What kind of car will we be driving in 2010? Rather different from the type we know today, with the next 20 years bringing greater change than the past 50.The people who will be designing the models of tomorrow believe that environmental problems may well accelerate the pace of the car’s development. Today they are students on the transport design course at London’s Royal College of Art.
Their vision is of a machine with three wheels instead of four, electrically powered, environmentally clean, and able to drive itself along “intelligent” roads equipped with built-in power supplies. Future cars will pick up their fuel during long journeys from a power source built into the road, or store it in small quantities for travelling in the city.
Instead of today’s seating arrangements—two in front, two or three behind, all facing forward--- the 2010 car will have a versatile interior with adults and children in a family circle.
This view of the future car is based on a much more sophisticated road system, with strips built into motorways to supply power to vehicles passing along them, cars will not need drivers, because computers will provide safe driving control and route finding. All the driver will have to do is say where to go and the computer will do the rest. It will become impossible for cars to crash into one another. The technology already exists for the car to become a true automobile.
71.What kind of car will we be driving in 2010?
A.Three wheeled. B.Electrically powered.
C.With a versatile seating arrangement D.All of the above.
72.How long will a volunteer be required to spend?
A.A few hours every day. B.A couple of hours each day.
C.One or two hours every two weeks. D.A few days per week.
73.What does the word “versatile” in Paragraph 3 mean?
A.having many different kinds of skill
B.easily able to change from one direction to another
C.easily able to change from one kind of activity to another
D.having many different uses
74.In paragraph 4 “with strips built into motorways to supply power to vehicles passing along them” means “there are many ____”.
A.traffic lights to control the speed of future cars
B.street posts to indicate directions for drivers
C.power sources along the street are able to supply power to automobiles
D.stop marks along the street to stop cars
75.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.Future cars are completely different from the automobiles we know today.
B.The design of future cars will be more sophisticated.
C.Because of the new type of cars, our future environment will become cleaner.
D.The road system will become more sophisticated than it is today.

Most people want to be successful, but never stop to think what it will really take to get there in their chosen field. If it means going back to college for 2 years of night school, could you do it ? If it means reading a book a week for about 6 months in order to really master a new skill ? If you aren’t prepared to do any of those things because they are outside of your comfort zone, then you can forget being succesful. I guarantee you will never reach your goals in life, unless your goals are to be ordinary.
The biggest killer by far is the dreaded “ comfort zone ” where most people live in their entire life. And the funny thing is that people just can’t wrap their heads around the fact that people who have reached some success get tons of time to just relax, but only because they’ve earned it ! If you haven’t built a successful business, or in some way built a career that allow you so much freee time, then you are stuck in the grinding world of nine-to-five jobs everyone else. So how comfortable is that ?
So what can you do about it ? Well, find a way to make something happen in your life--- build a business around your favourite hobby, write a book and publish it, or take a course in stock trading and become an expert at that, working on making enough money to retire. If you don’t take massive action that puts your way of your comfort zone, you will never be successful at much of anything. I promise--- and I don’t make many promises !
Finding real happiness in life can be a mystery for many. That’s why I wrote The Road to Happiness for those who want real success and happiness in life, including spirituality and all the gifts life has to offer.

What will man be like in the future——in 5000 or even 50,000 years from now? We can only make guesses, of course, but we can be sure that he will be different from what he is today, for man is slowly changing all the time.
Let us take an obvious example. Man, even five hundred years ago, was shorter than he is today. Now, on average, men are about three inches taller. Five hundred years is relatively short period of time, so we may assume that man will continue to grow taller. Again, in the modern world we use our brains a great deal. Even so, we still make use of only about 20% of the brain’s capacity. As time goes on, however, we shall have to use our brains more and more, and eventually we shall need larger ones! This is likely to bring about a physical change to the head, in particular the forehead, will grow larger.
Nowadays our eyes are in constant use. In fact, we use them so much that very often they become weaker and we have to wear glasses. But over very long period of time it is likely that man’s eyes will grow stronger.
On the other hand, we tend to make less use of our arms and legs. These, as a result, are likely to grow weaker. At the same time, however, our fingers will grow more sensitive because they are used a great deal in modern life.
But what about hair? This will probably disappear from the body altogether in course of time because it does not serve a useful purpose any longer. In the future, then, both sexes are likely to be bald.
Perhaps all this gives the impression that future man will not be a very attractive creature to look at! This may well be true. All the same, in spite of all these changes, future man will still have a lot in common with us. He will still be a human being, with thoughts and emotions similar to our own.
1. The passage mainly tells us that____.
A. man’s life will be different in the future
B. future man will look quite different from us
C. man is growing taller and uglier as time passes
D. the functions of man’s organs(器官) will function as well as today
2. Which of the following serves as the evidence that man is changing?
A. Man’s hair is getting thinner and thinner.
B. Man has got stronger eyes now than he ever had.
C. Man has been growing taller over the past 500 years.
D. Man’s arms and legs have become lighter and weaker.
3. The change in man’s size of forehead is probably because__________
A. he makes use of only 20 % of the brain’s capacity.
B. the other 80% of his brain will grow in due(预定的) time.
C. his brain has grown larger over the past centuries.
D. he will use his brain more and more as time goes on.
4. Which of the following is true about a human being in the future?
A. He thinks and feels in different way.
B. He has smaller eyes and wears better glasses.
C. He is hairless because hair is no longer useful.
D. His fingers grow weaker because he doesn’t use them.
5. It can be inferred from the passage that __________.
A. future life is always predictable(可预测的)
B. human beings hope for a change in the future life
C. human beings will become less attractive in the future
D. Less use of a bodily organ may lead to its degeneration(衰退)
