He and six other migrant workers from Fujian Province spent 36 hours in Iraq as international hostages(人质). But luckily, they were set free last Tuesday morning, unharmed by the people who had taken them hostage.
After hard work by Chinese diplomats(外交官)in the region the Iraqi kidnappers(绑架者)agreed to hand them over to a local religious group.“The friendly relations between the Chinese and Iraqi peoples have played a key role in the release of the hostages,”said Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan. Since April 4,over 60 hostages from 12 countries, including America,Italy and Japan, have been taken in Iraq. Some have been released, others were killed.
The Iraqi resistance groups have started taking foreigners hostage in an attempt to force the US-led troops out of their country. Paper route
A paper route is one of the most common tried and true ways to earn money, and has been the first job for many kids over the decades.
Pros:
First, if your child rides his bicycle every morning during deliveries, he will be getting a great workout while he is earning money. Second, paper deliverers have the freedom to do their route as quickly as they want, in the order that they want; and they don’t have to dress up to do it!
Cons:
Unpredictable Weather: your child will be facing adverse(不利的) weather conditions.
Early Morning Hours: newspapers have to arrive early, many times by 5:00 in the morning. But your children might have to be up as early as 2: 00 a. m. to get the papers out on time.
Collecting Money: It can be intimidating(令人胆怯的 ) for some children to ask strangers for money.
What Kids Can Learn About Money (by doing a paper route):
Paper routes depend on punctuality of the paper delivery. Your child will learn to deliver the papers by a specified time each morning.
Family business
If you own your own business, you can hire them to work for your family business.
Pros:
Since you will be the employer, you can make changes to their schedule if you need to. In addition, your child will work for you, so you’ll always know where he is and be able to keep an eye on him.
Cons:
Variability: depending on your line of work, you may not have enough work to keep your child busy consistently.
Limited for Children: If you don’t have your own business, but like the idea, you may want to ask friends, neighbors, or relatives you know who might want to hire some additional help.
What Kids Can Learn About Money (by working for the family business):
Working for the family will give your children a direct line of communication when they want to talk. Give them the opportunity to discuss pay rates with you. Introduce them to negotiations to agree on a fair rate.

What kind of job do you want to do in the future ? One that earns the most money or one that gives you the highest social position? What about a job that makes you feel happy? Surprisingly, these three things do not always go together in the job world .
According to a general social survey by the National Organization for Research at the University of Chicago in the US, the ten happiest jobs are not those with better pay or higher social position. They are ordinary jobs.
But what is it that makes a “happy” job?
Researchers found that people are happier when they feel they are doing something worthwhile. Six of the top ten happiest jobs are based heavily on helping others, such as firefighters, teachers, and physical therapists(理疗师 ).
Being able to express oneself is also important for people to feel satisfied . Take authors as an example. Their pay is “ridiculously low or non-existent”, but “the freedom of writing down the contents of your own mind leads to happiness ,”wrote business author Steve Denning on his blog on Forbes.com.
These jobs are greatly different to the top ten “hated jobs”, according a website survey earlier this year. Director of information technology, sales manager, technical specialist and others that are generally considered respectable jobs are on the list.
Todd May from The New York Times didn’t find the results strange. He argued that
“ a meaningful life must, in some sense then , make people feel worthwhile”. If a person doesn’t participate in the causes “ that are generally regarded as worthy, like feeding and clothing the poor, their life will lack meaning ,”he said . Work takes up the greater part of most people’s lives . It’s no wonder that the people with the most worthwhile jobs are the happiest of all.
However, it’s important to remember that these two surveys are broad ones and that it doesn’t matter whether your dream job is on the two lists. Now it is the time to think about the future . After all, something that satisfies your mind will always bring you happiness.

A.the more you earn , the happier you are |
B.respectable jobs are happy jobs |
C.the higher your social position is , the happier you are |
D.most happy jobs are related to helping others |
4.In the last paragraph the author stresses that_________.
A.your future job should be one that makes you happy |
B.your dream jobs should be based on the two surveys |
C.the two surveys are of great importance |
D.it won’t be easy to find a job in the future |
