Recently our local government has decided to broaden a narrow road and there is a temple of over 100 years old along a road. Whether the temple should pulled down have caused a heated discussion.

Some agree that we should pull it down to carrying out the construction project because it can solve some traffic problem and make our life convenient. Beside, it helps improve the image of our city. But the people who are for the idea believe that we can have another one solution. How should we pull it down? The temple has a long history and tells us something of our city. We can move it away and keep it as long as we like.

So far there had been no conclusion over the matter.

I am Senior 3 student. I’m going to take part in this summer’s college entrance examination. In preparation for it. I am studying very hard. As a result, I often feel exhausting both physically and mentally. Therefore, my parents still put a lot of pressure to me. I just came back from Britain last week．I was luckily enough to be one of the students from different country to visit the UK from Feb．16 to 28．We paid a visit to a good many of places, like London, Oxford or the Lake District．I learned much about British culture and history in London, where was my favorite．I also liked Oxford, in which I saw much more old buildings．The Lake District was beautiful, but it was pity that it rained heavily when they were there．The most excited thing for me in Britain was that I make a lot of friends there．

First, I’d like to thank you for your reminding, although I don’t agree with your view
which students should spend more time on their lessons instead of read novels．Indeed,
reading novels takes up some of the time that should spent on lessons, but it’ll make us know
what hard life is．Besides, by reading novels we can gain what we can’t learn from our
textbook．Of course, reading novels has it’s shortcomings．Novels that have wrong ideas will
make us to do something wrong．Maybe, in your eyes, the disadvantages of reading novels
outweighs the advantages．And in my opinion, reading novels is just as another pair of eyes,
which broadens my horizon．
