Whether you're learning English as a second language or are a native speaker who's never had the habit of writing, improving your English composition skills is very important. Knowing your shortcomings and practicing will allow you to write essay that is at first simply grammatically correct, and eventually sparkling with style.1.
2.Look up the definitions of words with which you are unfamiliar. The more words you can use successfully, the more often you'll be able to find the right one for the task at hand -- and the less likely your writing will be simplistic and repetitive.
Ask a friend with good English skills to criticize and correct your writing.3.Rewrite your paper or letter after listening to her advice, making the necessary changes.
Use your word processing software spelling and grammar-check tools to fix simple errors. Whenever you misspell a word, replace it with the correct suggestion and then look at it carefully, noting the differences from how you thought it was spelled.4.Use them.
Think in English while writing if you're a native speaker of a different language. Having to translate in your head slows you down, and can easily lead to errors. Study English grammar if you are having difficulties. Look up the rules whenever you're having difficulties or read a grammar book all the way through. It may be boring, but it's extremely helpful.
Practice writing!5.Every skill requires regular repetition to achieve mastery, whether playing a musical instrument, flying a jet or writing good English prose.
A.The more you write, the better writer you'll become.
B.Broaden your vocabulary by reading as much as possible.
C.Most modern Web browsers also include spell-checking tools.
D.Knowing what you're doing wrong is necessary before you can improve.
E.The more aware you are of your writing, the better your handwriting will be.
F.To achieve this you'll need to read more, ask friends for help, and continually write.
G.Put the symbols on flashcards and memorize them, then write them again and again.

Watching kids' cartoons can be an effective way to learn a language. Here are four worldwide popular kids' cartoons which may help you with your English learning.
Peppa Pig

The Simpsons was fearless and game-changing television.
Once Upon a Time
Once Upon a Time is a French educational animation, created by Procidis. There are seven series (系列), each focusing on different aspects of knowledge. These are mostly historical, focusing on the overall history of mankind or specified historical fields, such as the lives and achievements of the explorers or inventors.
Sazae-san
Sazae-san is more than a kids' show. It's a cultural institution, a national treasure and the longest- running animated series in the world, ever!
It's about a typical Japanese big family living together in Tokyo. The central character is an outspoken but somewhat clumsy woman in her early 20s, living with her husband, son, father, mother, brother and sister all under one roof.

Kids are far better than adults at learning how to speak multiple languages. Research now shows that very young infants might have some of the best language skills of all.
A new study suggests that babies between 4 and 6 months old can tell the difference between two languages just by looking at the speaker's face. They don't need to hear word.Sometimes between 6-8 months of age, babies raised in homes where just one language is spoken lose this ability.Babies from bilingual(双语的) homes, on the other hand, keep the face-reading ability until they're at least 8 months old.
Researchers in Canada studied 36 babies from English-speaking families.Twelve of the babies were 4 months old,12 were 6 months old, and the rest were 8 months old. Each baby sat on his or her mother's lap and watched video clips(电影片断) of a woman talking. The woman was fluent in both English and French. In some clips, she read from a storybook in English. In other clips, she read in French. In all of the videos there was no sound.

B.They were too tired to open their eyes and fell asleep.
C.They couldn't hear what the speaker was talking about.

It’s not entirely true that kids learn a second language easily, but it’s still the best time to learn. Babies are basically equipped to hear and distinguish every possible language and dialect, but once they reach 6 months old, they begin to focus on the particular sounds that exist in the languages that they’re exposed to. In this way, kids will naturally and automatically be bilingual(双语的) if they hear multiple languages on a daily basis when they are still babies..
One lady told me of her son who grew up in a very multi-cultural community working at a resort. He would naturally and easily switch from Dutch, to French, to Italian, German and English depending on who he was talking to. Of course that’s an extreme case, but it’s completely possible and easy.
It’ s not true that they will get mixed up by learning multiple languages. They may mix them up purposely simply because certain words or expressions are easier, but they won’t develop any permanent language disabilities. Quite the contrary, bilingual children have been shown to be as much as a year more advanced in learning ability development for 2 and 3 years olds.
Some kids who simply aren’t gifted at learning languages, just as some aren’t gifted at sports or music, will find it difficult to continue schooling in a foreign language. In that case, it may be better not to continue with the foreign language school. Still, it will have been an excellent opportunity for Grade One. Perhaps for Grade Two you could try a bilingual school.
In any case, learning even a small amount of a foreign language, maintaining the ability to hear and pronounce it by listening to music and movies will keep a foundation for later learning. Knowing a second language can be a great benefit for gaining employment.
1.What’s the main idea of the first paragraph?
A. It’s difficult for kids to learn a second language.
B. Kids are able to learn multiple languages.
C. Kids should be exposed to the native language.
D. Kids enjoy all kinds of different dialects.
2.What did the lady tell us about her son?
A. He could speak five kinds of languages.
B. He was learning some different languages.
C. He could talk with many people at the same time.
D. He was working in a multi-community.
3.In which way can learning multiple languages benefit kids according to the text?
A. Mixing up different languages.
B. Distinguish different dialects.
C. Developing learning ability.
D. Developing language disabilities.
4.What should you do if your kids are not good at learning language?
A. Ask them to turn to sports or music.
B. Encourage them to remain in Grade One.
C. Let them remain in the foreign language school.
D. Send them to a bilingual school later.
