Here are a few tips to help you, the workaholic, re-focus and get the best out of life.
EIGHT HOURS OF SLEEP! Make it a point to get at least eight hours of sleep and plenty of rest. Don't believe that you can always "catch some sleep or rest later." Your body cannot make up for lost sleep or rest time because it is not physiologically possible.
STRICTLY FAMILY ON WEEKENDS! Resolve to make Saturdays and Sundays strictly for family time. And stick to this! Mondays until Fridays you make an excuse not to relax and spend time with your family because it's work time, why not make a similar excuse for Saturdays and Sundays? "I can't work today because I'm spending time with my family."
GET SOME FOOD IN! Make sure you get food in your stomach. Workaholics are known to be food-skippers. If you can't afford to get off your desk or from doing paperwork, have food delivered to you. It's always a good idea if you have crackers on your drawer to ease the hunger pangs.
CONFINE WORK! Resolve to confine work in your office. Don't bring work to your home! Keep those files in your office desk where they belong. Practice working only within your working hours. If you have an eight-to-five working schedule, stick to it.
WORK UP THOSE MUSCLES! Exercise, exercise, exercise! Set aside at least an hour each day or every other day for exercise. You body needs to be conditioned, and working non-stop isn't going to give it the proper physical conditioning it needs. Since most workaholics tend to have their behinds stuck on their chairs, it's even more important that you get some exercise.
MAKE A PLAN! Plan your day. Work on only one or two things at a time. It's much easier to work on something and finish it first and then move on to the next rather than do a number of things all at the same time and never finish or accomplish anything at the end of the day. Make out a list of priorities. Write down things that need to be worked on immediately or are urgent, keeping the least ones at the bottom of your list. After you've done this, be guided by this list. Turning this activity into a habit will also help you manage your time better, be more organized, and accomplish more.

Want to travel easily? Here are some tips that help you reduce the size of your luggage.
Roll clothes instead of folding them. Many people try to fold their clothes into their little suitcase. 1. It actually makes far more sense to roll your clothes rather than fold them. Starting from the bottom, roll up your clothes into very tightly packed cylinders (圆柱体) which you can stack (堆叠) on top of each other.
Use vacuum bags (真空袋), when possible. 2. Buy some vacuum bags and seal all of your clothes up tightly. Having all of your luggage vacuum sealed will reduce the size of your items greatly. That will allow you to take more of what’s needed.
Always take travel bottles. Even though you are allowed to take full sized bottles in your suitcase, to make sure that you are under the weight allowance, it’s recommended that you still stick to travel-sized bottles. 3. Besides, it will also prevent you from wasting any product. If you do run out of anything while you are on holiday, you can always buy more.
4. If you do need to take a coat, you can wear it on the journey so you don’t have to pack it in your suitcase. Another method you can use is wearing multiple layers (多层衣服) on the journey although this isn’t always the most comfortable.
Research the weather in advance. A great way to prevent packing clothes that you won’t end up wearing is to research what the weather is going to be like where and when you go on holiday. 5. You can know how hot it’s likely going to be, as well as how much rain on average the destination receives each month.
A. It will free up enough room for you.
B. Don’t put any shoes in your suitcase.
C. It will make your suitcase much lighter.
D. Purchase a high and soft-sided suitcase.
E. Wear anything that takes up a lot of room.
F. There are plenty of websites that can predict it.
G. This is not the best way to pack your holiday goods.

Here are a few tips we’ve put together to help you learn English well.
Speak, speak, speak!
Practise speaking as often as you can—even speaking to yourself is good practice. Try recording yourself whenever you can. Compare your pronunciation with the master version, see how you can do better and have another try. If you do this several times, you will find that each version is better than the last.
Why not learn with someone else?
It helps if you can learn with someone else. If you can persuade a friend or family member to study with you, it will make you keep working. Agree times to meet and set goals for the week, and test each other regularly.
Don’t get stuck by a word you don’t know
Practise improvising (即兴的) ways of getting your meaning across while speaking spontaneously (本能), even if you don’t know the exact words or phrases. Think of things you might want to say whenever you have spare time. A basic example is the use of tenses. If you don’t know the past tense but want to talk about yesterday, use the verb in the present tense and use the word for “yesterday”. Use facial expressions, hand movements, anything to get your meaning across.
Language learning is also about intuition (直觉)
Guesswork is important in learning a new language. When listening to recorded material, you aren’t expected to understand everything first time round. If you play the same piece several times, you will most probably understand something new each time. Learn to make maximum use of all the clues you can pick up. For example, what do the speakers sound like? Happy? Angry? Calm? Etc.
Build up your vocabulary
A wide vocabulary is the key to successful language learning but don’t try to learn too much at once. It’s best to study frequently, for short periods of time. Take a maximum of six or seven items of vocabulary and learn them. Put them into sentences to fix them in your mind, then come back to them later. Much of the vocabulary in the course is presented by topic.
And above all, have fun!
68. Why should one have himself recorded when practicing speaking?
A. To encourage others to start.
B. To record his own progress.
C. To improve his speaking.
D. To compare himself with others.
69. Which of the following is the most important in learning English?
A. Speaking. B. Pleasure. C. Intuition. D. Vocabulary.
70. It is important in Tip 3 that ________ is helpful when you are learning English.
A. body language B. a good memory C. a good friend D. a proper dictionary
71. Which of the following seems NOT to be true in learning a language?
A. Practice makes perfect. B. A good beginning is half done.
C. Rome is not built in a day. D. Don’t run before you can walk.

Most students have experienced or suffered from procrastination(拖延症). Here are some tips to help you reduce procrastination.
Set goals
Students often procrastinate because they think that they can put off the work for a while and enjoy their time at the moment. 1., when the deadline becomes one day away and the essay has yet to be started. In order to stay on track, you should constantly set and update goals. It can be beneficial to mark all deadlines in a planner and think about how much time you need to meet them all. Update your plan for the upcoming two weeks so that you do not get overwhelmed(压倒), and continue to update as other assignments and events arise. Additionally, make a daily schedule in order to reach necessary goals before going to bed.
Reward yourself
It can become extremely difficult to work for hours straight in order to finish schoolwork. In order to keep productivity, set breaks at the end of a period of time or once you finish a section of your work so that you can reward yourself with some deserved, scheduled, and controlled procrastination-like activities. 2.. Breaks like these are proven to increase productivity and keep you focused, and they will make the process of studying much more bearable!
Remind yourself of what you’re doing
Sometimes you may begin to think that what you are working on has little to do with what you ultimately want to do. You may consider some work or a class pointless and not useful to your further studies. However, when these thoughts arise, remind yourself what the ultimate goal of your schooling is. Remind yourself why you wanted to go to school and take this program in the first place. 3..
Turn off the Internet
4. If you do not need the Internet to do your work, turn it off so that you are not receiving notifications while completing your work, and you are not so tempted to search for sites. The same goes for your cell phone; you can take a break from being connected to the cyber world in order to do your schoolwork. If you feel the need to check messages and websites often, set time when you will allow yourself to do so rather than constantly staying connected.
5.
Being productive for all hours of every day does not work—you do need breaks, and as a student you are entitled to have a lot of fun. So, in order to balance productivity and amusement, plan time to go out with friends or do something relaxing. But ideally, social and relaxations plans should be made after a significant portion of work is complete. This way, while you are working, you can keep in mind that once you have finished your work you can go out and not worry about your assignments.
A. Have something to look forward to.
B. Enjoy every minute in school.
C. You may have coffee with a friend, cook, or watch a television show
D. This thought tends to make things worse, though
E. The Internet has become an essential part of our daily life
F. You may understand why you should focus on completing your work
G. Some of the most common distractions are those found on the Internet

There a few key tips will help you effectively present your work and your ideas in the professional world.
1. 1.
Probably the most important aspect of a presentation is what you do in advance. Preparation is vital in organizing your thoughts and ideas into a whole that makes sense to your audience. Plus, knowing the material backwards and forwards means that you can be quicker and more accurate in answering questions and will allow you to ad-lib (随口说出) or go off script( 脚本;手迹)in a personal and confident manner.
2. Practice with a friend
Along with the preparation for the presentation itself, it’s important to practice what you’re going to say ahead of time, preferably with another person who could give you feedback. Practicing in front of somebody else, instead of just a mirror, will allow you to get an objective perspective on your performance, while also giving you a bit of an audience to work with. 2..
3. Breathe and relax
During the actual presentation, it is important to remember to breathe and relax. This can be hard to remember when you’re in the midst of what you’re doing in front of an audience, but breathing will automatically slow you down and relax you duringIt. 3.. I would advise a couple of deep breaths before starting a new slide point, just to keep your timing right.
4. Control your body language
4.. When giving a presentation, just as important as what you’re saying is how you say it. Project confidence by looking out at people in the eyes and directing your presentation to the audience instead of behind them. It can also be a helpful tip to have open and inviting body language which can create a connection with the people you’re presenting to. 5..
A. Organize your thoughts
B. For instance, a few hand gestures are of great help
C. Prepare properly
D. The most important thing is to have fun and try to show you are listening
E. Find someone who is patient enough to sit through your talk, and comfortably supporting you, but also giving constructive criticism
F. Breaths can also effectively act as pauses in the presentation and give you a chance to gather your thoughts
G. Researchers say that the majority of communication is non-verbal, and I tend to agree
