No one likes the idea of being watched but, in today's high-tech society, a video camera can keep its eye on you 24 hours a day. This is now even the case in schools, and the students are not particularly happy about it.
“Luckily for me, the video cameras in our school are only installed along the corridors(走廊),” said Zhu Jiangyue, a Senior 2 student in Beijing. “It would feel like you're always being stared at if there were a camera in the classroom. You would have no privacy.”
Two students in Shanghai learned this the hard way when their high school broadcast video pictures of them kissing on campus. They must have been annoyed by this and responded by filing lawsuit against the school for invasion of privacy and last month a local court agreed to hear it. It is the first case of its kind in China, and everyone has something to say about it.
Li Xiang, a Senior 3 student in Hunan Province, thinks the schools behavior was unacceptable and unreasonable. "If I were one of the victims, I would be as angry as they are," said the 18-year-old. Every classroom in Li's school has a video camera above the door. They are generally used only when an exam is taking place but sometimes a student is allowed to control the camera. In this way, students needn’t worry about being watched in most part of their school life and can enjoy the benefits cameras bring as long as it doesn’t damage their self-respect.
However, Peng Jianping, chairman of the Moral Education Research Centre in Guangzhou, thinks video monitoring causes more harm than good. “Schools hope to manage the students better with the help of video cameras,” he said. “But it won't actually work. Teachers and students should trust and respect each other. If video cameras are frequently used, teenagers will think their teachers don't believe them.”

C. Li Xiang thinks his school uses the video cameras in the correct way.
D. Two students in Shanghai in this case didn't say anything about it.
2.What does most school leaders want to use video cameras for?
A. To monitor the campus for safety.
B. To take pictures of students who are studying.
C. To monitor the students in the exams.
D. To manage the students better.
3.What's the writer's opinion on the use of video cameras on the campus?
A. He quite agrees. B. He doesn't agree.
C. We don't know. D. He neither agrees nor disagrees.
4.What's the best title for the passage?
A. Manage the students better with video cameras.
B. Video cameras on the campus.
C. Why video cameras used on the campus.

Some people don’t mind being fat. Other people can keep slim (苗条) without any effort. But a lot of people do put on too much weight and don’t like it. The question is, what can thy do about it?
Some believe exercise can be helpful. But the trouble is that it only makes you want to eat more. You might sweat out a couple of pounds playing tennis or climbing a mountain, but you put it all back on again with a big steak or bread and jam.
A helpful way is food choosing. But what sort of food should you choose? Some believe that the less they eat, the slimmer they will be. They don’t eat anything until they become weak with hunger. Some stick to milk and bananas. You’ll find you need a lot of bananas, and unless you live where they grow, they aren’t cheap. Another says that if you eat things like hard-boiled eggs, and apples with their skins on which are hard for your stomach to digest (消化), the more you eat, the thinner you get. This is because you use up the fat in your body to get the energy to digest the food.
For most of us these methods are too extreme (极端的). The simplest way is just to cut down on the carbohydrates (糖类) that means not eating bread, potatoes, cakes, sugar, rice, and so on and eating anything else you like. It’s straight forward and often quite effective.
Still others like to be more scientific. They are calorie countries. They get a table, which tells them that, for example, 100 grams of roast let of lamb gives you 330 calories and a 50 gram helping of Yokshire pudding gives you 130 calories.

Any day we wish;we can discipline ourselves to change it a11.Any day we wish;we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge.Any day we wish;we can start a new activity.Any day we wish;we can start the process of life change. We can do it immediately,or next week,or next month,or next year.
We can also do nothing. We can pretend rather than perform. And if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortable,we can remain as we are.We can choose rest over labor, entertainment over education, delusion(幻想)over truth, and doubt over confidence. The choices are ours to make. But while we complain about the effect,we continue to nourish(助长)the cause.
As Shakespeare uniquely observed,“The fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves.’’We created our circumstances by our past choices. We have both the ability and the responsibility to make better choices beginning today.
Those who are in search of the good life do not need more answers or more time to think things over to reach better conclusions. They need the truth .They need the whole truth .And the responsibility to nothing but the truth.
We cannot allow our errors in judgment, repeated every day,to lead us down the wrong path.
We must keep coming back to those basics that make the biggest difference in how our life works out.And then we must make the very choices that will bring life, happiness and joy into our daily lives .
And if I may be so bold to offer my last piece of advice for someone seeking and needing to make changes in their life—If you don’t like how things are, change it !You’re not a tree. You have the ability to totally transform every area in your life — and it all begins with your very own power of choice.

A. whatever happens, we have to change ourselves
B. people tend to nourish the cause of bad results

A.it is our duty to change for the better

C.sometimes we have to face the fate
D.we should believe in ourselves in life
4.In the author’s opinion,if。you want a good life,what you need most is_______.
